We hired Aiste to act as a tour guide and photographer for a family trip. We were pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful person, in addition to a great planner and photographer. When rain impacted our plans, she suggested a trip down to the Southern tip of NZ and then back for a stay in the Dark Sky Preserve. They were great suggestions and she took us to amazing places we never would have found on our own. I brought my own camera and she showed me the ropes for using filters with waterfalls and how to do astrophotography during the new moon. We highly recommend Aiste, not only for great service and professionalism...but also as a person to brighten your day as you experience picturesque South Island!

Over 80% of the world’s population live under light polluted skies which means that the infinite beauty and majesty of the night sky is hidden from them. In Central Otago we are fortunate to enjoy many long evenings under clear skies with minimal light pollution, creating rare opportunities to take images of the solar system and wider cosmos. Depending on the season, time and conditions there will be a variety of objects to shoot; the moon, planets, stars, clusters, galaxies and satellites. All of these phenomena can be photographed using the stunning Wanaka scenery as context and backdrop. On this tour you can acquire some astrophotography experience and skills even if you don’t have the right camera equipment as all of this is supplied.

This is an awesome afternoon out. As a boss of 23 people we try and get out for 2 - 3 company trips a year and this one was well received and enjoyed by all. Mark and the Ridgeline team were great hosts and provided lots of history and interesting facts about wanaka and the early farming along the way.

We contacted Aiste very last minute and she was so accommodating. She actually did a family session for us - my husband, me, and our kids ages 15, 12 and 10. Despite the unbelievable WIND, Aiste captured some gorgeous photos that literally took my breath away. She got some great posed and candid shots that really brought out the personalities of each of our children. She was excellent to work with, communicated quickly and was fun during the session. I highly recommend Aiste for your family Queenstown photo session!
