An absolutely five star experience at these stables! My wife and I were in Asheville for our honeymoon and her ONLY request for the trip was to get a horseback riding trip that would allow her to relive her horseback riding days as a young teenage and Bucktown stables was the perfect place for that. They gave her a beautiful horse (Loki) that matched her ability and she was able to use the arena after our trail for a fun trot and hop with Loki. The trail itself was just beautiful. An hour long hike through the woods with a decent amount of uphills and downhills, combined with some deer spotting along the way. It was a rainy weekend and our guide (Maya) brought us back just in time before the storm. My wife did ride her horse a little in the arena during the rain and loved every minute of it! The people who run this ranch are just lovely humans - knowledgeable, friendly, and very kind. I also LOST my passport on the hike (PSA - do not carry valuables in your pants' backpocket during the ride) and one phone-call to these people the day after and they were able to retrieve my passport from the trail! They also rescue a lot of their horses from shelters. Truly life-saving group of folks with a beautiful heart and a lovely ranch.

I played the course for about the 10th time. If I don't lay it once a year, I really miss it. It was damp from heavy rains but still so enjoyable. I enjoy the scenery, the trout streams, the deer, and the lovely layout.
