Once known for smog, traffic and tacky architecture, Athens is a city reformed thanks to fortunes brought by the 2004 Summer Olympics. Spotless parks and streets, an ultra-modern subway, new freeways, an accessible airport and all signs in perfect English make the city easily negotiable. Meriting more than a stopover en route to the islands, sophisticated Athens sites include many pillars of Western history, from the Acropolis to the Temple of Olympian Zeus, as well as treasures in the National Archaeological Museum.

Tiki Bar Athens is the first and original athenian tiki bar. It opened in September 2007 and has been one of the best spots since then. Located only 2 minutes from the Acropolis subway station, the Acropolis Museum and the beautiful pedestrian street of Makriyanni. It is famous for some of the best cocktails in town, including some unique recipes with seasonal fruits especially made from its bartenders. Tiki bar also offers a selection of food inspired by different kind of cuisines (exotic, mexican, american, vegetarian and others). The menu is also available for Take away and delivery at efood and wolt. It has unique decoration with a strong vintage vibe, both inside and outside. Music plays a very important role here and you ll hear the djs playing tunes from previous decades (even from the 20s), up to date. LGBTQ Friendly, Vegan/Vegetarian recipes included, sustainable philosophy, pet friendly
I cannot agree at all with the previous reviewer's criticism. The Tiki Bar is ideally located: very quiet, but close to the Acropolis Museum. The cocktails are delicious, and so are the tacos. The staff is very nice. Altogether, this is an ideal place to have a drink or two before or after dinner.
