From 7 to 77 years, come to discover Somme Bay with the association Hike - nature as a matter of fact, by making a Crossing of the Somme Bay, by observing the colony(summer camp) of seal. We guide shall make you discover the fauna, the flora and all the human activitées present in Somme Bay.
Crossing the Somme bay with a naturalist guide, explaining all you want to know about birds, common and grey seals, fauna, flora and landscape, is a fantastic experience. Don not forget to use boots to cross the Somme bay. It's muddy... Furthermore, you have to keep in mind that crossing the Somme bay alone is very dangerous, as you can get trapped quickly by incoming tide and be stuck in the mud.

A fantastic few fours at this park walking the trails and stopping at the numerous hides to watch the birds, waterfowl and various animals. We're not bird watchers, but found it fascinating observing them going about their daily business! several walking trails, all clearly marked out and mostly flat and easy. We did the longest one, the red trail at 6km which took about 2.5 hours because we stopped at all 13 hides to use our binoculars (you can rent them here...) and to take photos. There's a café, more of a restaurant really, a shop, toilets, large picnic areas and plenty of parking. Admittance was around 10 euros each which we thought very good value. A great half day out!

The House of the Somme Bay is a museum that presents the evolution of the Bay of 2 millennia and the various challenges it faces ( siltation , erosion) . You will also discover all the natural environments of the Picardy coast and birds that live there in striking reproduction of realism. One room is dedicated to the presence of seals in the bay . Finally, an external path allows you to better understand the wetlands. On site picnic area , local shop , observation post , coffee machine .
A gem of a place for people interested in wildlife. Excellent exhibits of all kinds of birds that frequent the area at different times of the year and in its diverse habitats. Also provide details of the history of the bay and its human inhabitants.

I visited this reserve in July 2020, that is not far from Le Crotoy. This area became previouly to suger industry; thus the earth is very rich and attract numerous birds. This is a very nice, place, where you can see a lot of numerous migratory birds, especially beautiful black necked grebes. It is preferrable to visit this place at early morning, because birds are more active at that time. You can reserve guided tours, that are very interesting.
