Barcelona feels a bit surreal – appropriate, since Salvador Dali spent time here and Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí designed several of the city’s buildings. Stepping into Gaudí’s Church of the Sacred Family is a bit like falling through the looking glass - a journey that you can continue with a visit to Park Güell. Sip sangria at a sidewalk café in Las Ramblas while watching flamboyant street performers, then create your own moveable feast by floating from tapas bar to tapas bar.

Do not miss this for the world if you are in Barcelona. It has a quite expensive commercial center(MareMagnum), nice places to eat or have a beer, a very clean wooden platform(washed every morning), cleaner than I had in my hotel room, excellent places to sit and relax by the sea, to watch all the cruise vessels, the yachts, small boats coming and going out. If you are there at around 19.00, you can see a big passenger vessel approaching and mooring in the narrow part of the port(the one closer to the wooden platform). Impressive indeed!!! Great maneuver of that captain.

We had a little time our last evening, and decided to take a stroll at the Platja de Sant Sebastiá. It was clean, not too crowded, and just right for us to toss our shoes and go for a little barefoot stroll in the shallow surf. It was a great way to end our days in Barcelona.

The Barcelona L'Aquàrium is located in the old harbour, Port Vell, and is the world's most important marine leisure and education centre dedicated to Mediterranean undersea life. It is the perfect place to find out about the seabed and all its different species. You'll learn about them through the 66 Mediterranean and tropical tanks which are home to 11,000 animals from some 450 different species. The most spectacular of all is the immense Oceanarium, the only one in Europe. A transparent 80-metre-long tunnel runs through the Oceanarium where you can walk among sharks, giltheads, morays, ocean sunfish and many more species. Planeta Aqua and Explora! show the importance of water in the development of our planet, and kids can discover the underwater world by using their five senses.
honestly, ive been to maybe 4/5 different aquariums and sealife centers but this was in the top 2 by far!! Amazing staff! Awesome welcome photo and the sea life on display were active and looked healthy and strong!
