Top 5 Nature & Parks in Pasir Ris, Singapore

September 15, 2021 Emerita Lamoureux

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Tayo Station

WE ARE BACK! Tayo Station is the first Tayo character-based indoor playground in Singapore & Southeast Asia, outside of Korea. It is perfect for families and the young to play, indulge, and create their own adventures with Tayo the Little Bus & his friends. Have a go on a fun-filled ride at Tayo Station!

My kids are a huge fan of Tayo Station and the moment we learn that it has reopen, we were so hyped up for a playdate with other friends. We had so much fun enjoying the various activities provided there especially the road circuit with petrol kiosk and mechanic stations. Apart from the mandatory temperature checks, i felt very safe with the extra precautions taken to prevent overcrowding and the frequent hand sanitizing. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was so much fun that the kids were reluctant to leave the play area even after time is up. Overall, definitely a fun and safe environment. We recommend for parents to book in advance. We will definitely be back again!

Pasir Ris Park

This listing is for Pasir Ris Park and not the adjacent Pasir Ris Town Park. The location on trip advisors map is correct and covers the long expanse of park stretching the whole width of the coast at Pasir Ris. It’s a wonderful park for all the family. Children’s play areas, restaurants with views of the ocean complete with a wonderful sea breeze. Ocean going vessels ply their way to and from Pasir Gudang Port. So many birds to be seen including the pied hornbill. Snakes are a common sight in the well constructed mangrove broadwalk. Herons are numerous. If your keen on nature don’t forget your telephoto lens. Plenty of place for jogging, cycling or just walking. The Sungei Api Api and Sungei Tampines run through the park. Plenty of picnic spots with fabulous views. A great day out awaits you at Pasir Ris Park. Relax and enjoy - this park has something for everyone.

St John's Island

See the colourful coral right in front of your eyes or swim in one of St John’s Island’s many lagoons. You might also like to enjoy a pleasant picnic on the beach or go dolphin spotting by the water.

St John's Island used to be one of the largest quarantine stations of the British empire, later an opium treatment centre, drug rehabilitation centre. Nowadays St John's Island has become a leisure destination, allowing Singaporeans to get away from the bustling city life. There are no cafes or shops on the island so you will need to bring your own food and enough water before getting on the ferry. There are toilet and shower facilities but no soap provided, so please bring your own hand sanitizer as well. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from St John's Pier to Lazarus Beach where you can see beautiful bay, fine sand, and clear water. It's hard to believe that you are in highly urbanized Singapore, giving you the illusion that you are overseas in a tropical beach paradise. This is a wonderful place to have picnics with family or friends, play beach games, canoeing, swimming, or just strolling on the beach... peaceful and relaxing. I took the 4pm ferry back to Marina South Pier. If you like to stay longer, the last Marina South ferry is at 6pm. Highly recommend this wonderful and enjoyable day trip!
