Named one of the top ten small art towns in the country, Brattleboro's downtown is packed with coffee shops, bookstores, and art galleries. Over the course of a year, the town hosts world class jazz concerts, film festivals, and theater companies. Since 1922, Brattleboro has also been home to the Harris Hill Ski Jump, an annual winter tradition that brings thousands of spectators to the town to watch as some of the world's best athletes tackle the death-defying 90-meter ski jump.

KidsPLAYce is an indoor children's discovery center located in the heart of downtown Brattleboro, Vermont. Inside is a magical play-space filled with a life-sized boat, castle, two-story townhouse, train, building blocks, crafts, art, music, mazes, and more. Each of these wonderful story-book structures was hand built by Vermont craftspeople and artists. We parked just past the trailhead sign by the Harris Hill Ski Jump and hiked the outer loop of the trail, then up to the Retreat tower! You can't see the tower until you are right upon it. We hiked back down to check out the cemetery as well. Neat place.
