The Mozaik Bahçe (Mosaic Garden) restaurant specializes exclusively in dishes from south east Turkey. The menu is influenced by the rich and diverse mosaic culture of the Hatay region and its historical association with Ottoman, Arabic, Armenian and Frenc
We've been here a few times over the years and it has always been very good. Set in a quiet spot in central Fethiye it was very busy, as always, when we arrived but it is a nice spot to sit have a drink while awaiting a tableEverything we had was very tasty and the service was spot on. Prices were reasonable.Could probably do with more vegetarian dishes on the mains menu
Our first observation about the place was, uhh, just a backyard with a few tables. There was no decor but some empty liquor bottles piled up in one corner. You would not have known if this was a restaurant or your uncleâs backyard - some of us may like this simplicity of a family-like surroundings but at the end, family do not charge you arm and a leg for dinner :) Anyway, greeting by the person, I assume was the owner, was just cold despite we had a lovely little 11-month old with us. The owner insisted not sitting us where my wife was pointing although the entire restaurant was empty, and set us in a table in the middle of the place. When asked for a baby seat he said they do not have any. We ordered some food and some red wine. Wine was local brand and good but food was disapponting. Very little plates and no presentation. While we were eating, no one came to ask whether we liked the food or needed anything else..There was a music playing from a computer and a few speakers. While the music could have been good, there was a constant, annoying noice from somewhere, we asked, the lady answered that that was the noise of their water pump. I can say that the place is run very unprofessionally, the food is expensive when you think abt the portions served, and the terrible service and settings. This whatâs wrong about F&B business in Turkey..Anyone with a back yard and taken a few classes of cooking thinks they can open and run a restaurant, and the results are like this place...Hello Dogan, we are very surprised with your one point comment :)First of all, i am the chef of the restaurant, i am graduated from MSA Culinary Arts School which is not "a few cooking classes". My first restaurant was in Istanbul, in a very crowded plaza area, under Is Towers in Levent region. Later on i was working in a Turkish restaurant in the Southern part of China, Fujian State. I was giving concultancy to the restaurant about Turkish cuisine. I was working as a volunteer in Slow Food organization for over 10 years in Turkey, searching and investigating about local food products which are about to be forgotten. As you can see, it is more than "a few cooking classes". Our food is not expensive, everybody can compare our prices with any of the similar restaurants which are always higher than our prices. Our mezze plates are bigger (19 cm) than normal mezze plates (14 cm) in Turkey, Please find our presentation examples @incirkayakoy on Instagram and Facebook.I remember, you asked me about the noise coming from the pump. Last year, we had a flood in Kayakoy during which the water stayed 45 days in our house and restaurant. Our pump was under water and that day you came, it was broken. We had to show you that table as all the other tables were reserved. We are not accepting hourly reservations, thats why you had to sit that table as you didnt booked a table before. Our restaurant is a tiny, sincere, small business, which we call "salaÅ" in Turkish and can translate as a neighbour-bar into English. We have never claim that we are a bon chic bon genre, fine dining restaurant. You can see all our pictures on our social media accounts. I leave the evaluation of your one star comment among 35 five star comments to all of the readers of this comment.I wish you tell your disappointment directly to us on that day..
