We don't live nearby Rosines however when we know we will be anywhere near this restaurant we make a point of eating either lunch or dinner there. My mouth waters every time I think of their food. We love their lentil soup, kebobs and many of their side dishes. Everything they serve is perfect. The staff is always friendly but don't expect the food to come out really fast. It takes a while but is definitely worth the wait. We have eaten at many Mediterranean restaurants and this is the only one that gets it right. I wish they would open another location in Claremont!!!

We love Mediterranean food. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience for us. We pre-ordered take out - shawarma chicken and chicken kabobs with a side salad. The take out/puck up process was quick. The portions were large - tons of rice! The kabobs came with grilled green peppers, onions and tomatoes as well as some pits triangles. The tomatoes we're tasteless. The chicken was cooked perfectly, but had no taste. They forgot the tziziki sauce so it was even worse. The shawarma had an extra bitter and umami taste. Not to our liking. It came with some hummus which was mediocre. Will not be revisiting.

Zankou Chicken
It seems like lunchtime is really busy for this restaurant (good for them); I don't think I will be going back, though, at this hour. Hopefully, this way I will avoid the waiting, the food being undercooked, orders being botched, and having to scarf down my food hurriedly. I've never had a bad experience with the quality and taste of the food here; however, this time my tri-tip shawarma wrap was prepared in a substandard manner: beef instead of tender was chewy, the pita bread was burnt so it would flake off when handled, and to add insult to injury the wrap was more like a mini-wrap (it was so small). We ordered a whole chicken to-go, also, and instead of it coming in a "thermal bag" (combo paper/aluminum foil?) that was used in the past, now it comes in a plastic container that I doubt can keep the bird warm for later consumption. I'm not sure if it was because of the hour, the time of the year, the location, or simply that quality was overlooked, but this seemed like an anomaly. During my time at this restaurant trying to enjoy my meal, I observed several patrons not necessarily happy with their orders, or the service.I sure hope this changes for the better, because Zankou knows how to make a great chicken--among other things--and I would hate to not be able to enjoy it anymore!

The lamb burger had so much salt and spice over-worked into the meat that it rendered the meat into mush... with no texture that should be present in the balance between fat and protein in a properly prepared and cooked burger. It was served on a huge stale bun, with aioli sauce (tasted like salty sweet spicy mayo) smothering both halves of the bread...that further worked to have you forget that you ordered lamb. The thick matchstick French Fries were great, except they, too, were over salted and over spiced. I am sure I reached my weekly recommended limit of salt in just this one meal tonight. I hope my heart does not hold it against me. There are two salmon entrées on the menu. We asked the difference. The 'Seared Salmon', is supposed to be twice the size of the '4 ounce Petite Salmon'. We ordered the larger portion, but were served a tiny 3 to 4 ounce piece sitting on a huge mound, over a pound, of sautéed potatoes. At least it was not over salted. We drowned our sorrows in their 50% off Wine Tuesday - 1/2 price bottle of wine.... that we appreciated.I grossly over tipped, because I felt embarrassed leaving so much of my food, uneaten, on my plate.Oh, and they will only cook everything to 'medium' or 'well-done'. That, says a lot......

If you love salads as much as I do this is the place that brings me in every time, then I order the lunch chicken kebabs. One skewer of grilled vegetables and one skewer grilled chicken. Light, refreshing, not over powering. The service is top notch. The local paper has coupons! Eat inside or enjoy the sunset outside, I think you'll really enjoy Medii Kitchen.
