Once again Trip Advisor steered us to a great restaurant while passing through town on our travels. Food was wonderfully fresh and exceeded my expectation for prompt service and a delicious enchilada dinner. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burrito as well. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We will definitely choose to come back if Winnemucca is a stopover again.

We ate dinner here on 09/27 while staying next door at the HIE. Entry is through a small casino. We were seated immediately, given menus and drink order taken. We had a steak fajita salad, presidential platter and a margarita. Food arrived very quickly and was very hot. The steak was done to perfection and could be cut with a butter knife. Very enjoyable meal. Tanya's was a fantastic waitress. Total before tip was $34.70. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Stopped here for lunch during our drive across Nevada. Food and service was really good. They have a nice variety on the menu. Tried the Chicken Fajita Taco Bowl and the Buckaroo Burger. Both were quite good. Service was friendly and attentive. We travel through here several times each year. This place is conveniently located across the street from our favorite breakfast place, which works well for future stayover trips.

Based on other reviews we decided to try this place. It is at east end of town in a nondescript storefront but the food and service was excellent. They specialize in seafood but offer all the traditional Mexican dishes as well. We tried the shrimp fajitas and the carnitas. Both dishes were well prepared with very fresh ingredients. The waitress/hostess was warm and friendly as well as efficient. Looked like a place that locals frequent. Would not hesitate to return next time we pass thru Winnemucca.
Winnemucca Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Winnemucca
I don't typically review fast food chain restaurants because their claim to fame is consistency. If you review one, then you have reviewed them all and their food and atmosphere is, at best, average. However, the Taco Time in Winnemucca is a grade above the rest. Yes, they serve all the favorite items that are found in other Taco Times, but the place has a special charm. It is not just the same old cookie cutter atmosphere of most Taco Time chain stores. It is in a different style building with unique decoration inside which makes one think they are in a special local Mexican Restaurant rather than a same old consistent place. Don't get me wrong, I am often attracted to chain restaurants because their standardization provides me some assurance of what I should be able to expect from their food, service and atmosphere. However, it is really nice to be expecting one thing and then be treated to something that is much better. That is why I give a thumbs up to the Taco Time in Winnemucca.
