Our group of 5, of whom 2 eat here frequently, enjoyed dinner. We ordered two servings of trout, plus chicken enchiladas, scallops, and a classic chicken dish. It’s nice to join friends at a restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and a wide variety of delicious, attractive dishes.

Chef Paco is great and really makes this place a destination. His moles are amazing. Tried the enchiladas with 6 different mole sauces. Spectacular. Be prepared to be charmed into dessert or other items. The entire staff is just great and so is the food.

After living in Mexico, I'm very critical of Mexican food. This place is the real deal! The tacos were fresh, moist, and good portions. I got a side of chips and guacamole, which comes in a decent size cup. It was fresh and flavorful, and full to the top of the cup.Highly recommended this place above all others nearby. Big dining area to the side. Parking is fine. Prices are average.

Maria's Mexican Restaurant

Maria’s has been a staple in the Rosemont and Elmwood Park/Chicago area for decades. They are a go to for a nice night out for outside patio dinning although I wish the smoking outside was controlled more. Inside is fabulously decorated with color, personality and expression. Free: table chips and salsa (mild and not available) Note: guacamole is very good but very pricey they call it “market price avocados” we did it once thinking what can a side of guacamole cost like meh, $6.50? And nope we were charged $13. Try: chicken soup (not the red broth) great even as a LARGE bowl for a meal - served on certain days of the week. Chicken burrito suizo is a go to must for me. Served with rice and beans, garnish of orange and or radish. Soup or salad comes with. Drinks are extra. Dessert: fried ice cream with whipped cream They are known for making exquisite knock you out of this world adult beverages. I am not a drinker, did have one once, whoa, it was flavorful, large and not stingy on the good stuff... always be safe and have a driver for you! Booths and tables available. Can accommodate small and large parties including handicap people. Live music table-side is offered but not required. Tips are accepted for this. Service varies. We have had excellent, attentive and friendly servers and sometimes we have very sarcastic servers etc. just like anywhere else. Can do take out or dine in. Some services online offer the online delivery feature but I live near by so that does not apply to me. Parking: free street and lot parking.Overall/conclusion: Bottom line is they are consistent. You know what you are getting every time you walk in. You want that in food and a place you will return to or recommend to friends, family or business people. If you had a bad experience somewhere else, good food and comfy booths await you in a familiar setting. We go for lots of occasions. Try them at Halloween, they decorate super cute!

I liked the Tortilla Soup, which tasted quite different from the hundreds of examples I have had in Mexico, but was very good. The calabacita chilaquiles were just OK. The green sauce was a bit overpowering and the totopos were soggy.
