Find out what Mexican restaurants to try in Lilongwe. The quiet capital of Malawi, Lilongwe is divided into New and Old Towns. The Old Town is where to go for bustling stores, markets, cafes, hotels, and restaurants. The New Town houses embassies, international aid organizations, and corporate headquarters. A large expat population has made Lilongwe a very Western city, and a perfect stopping point for tired travelers to relax and pick up some essentials for their trip to the country’s wildlife reserves or to the beaches of Lake Malawi.

Distinctly decorated in dedication to the revolutionary artist Vincent Van Gogh, Vincentâs Restaurant offers unique culinary delights prepared by some of the best trained chefs in the city. With an open grill kitchen and inspiring décor, Vincentâs present
My wife and I had dinner at Vincentâs, one of the few restaurants in Lilongwe for fine dinning. The welcome was warm and professional and the ambiance relaxing. The mushroom soup I had for starters was superb and went very well with warm bread rolls. The spicy grilled fish I had for my main course was nicely done and combined well with the steamed veggies and mashed potatoes, and the dessert was equally delicious. The staff were all very courteous, helpful and professional. We were not disappointed with our evening out at the Vincentâs.

La Cantina is Malawi's first and only restaurant dedicated to traditional Mexican food and drinks. We use fresh, local ingredients whenever possible and bring a uniquely Oaxacan flare to every meal. Our bar serves craft margaritas by an outdoor fire pit!
Was delighted to find that there is anew Mexican restaurant in Lilongwe. La Cantina is stylishly decorated and has an authentic unpretentious Mexican feel. The food was delicious, margaritas strong and the service was excellent. It was nice to see the owner stop by to say hello. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.
All in one place. Even a kids playing area next door. Lovely sunsets could be seen. Must try the BBQ
Mimosa Restaurant is an open brasserie-style restaurant spilling out onto a picturesque courtyard with a large ornamental fish pond. Along with buffet breakfast and lunch, an a la carte menu is served throughout the day, and an open air traditional pizza
I spent a month eating breakfast at this hotel; after that I used to come here to eat lunch at times. While the staff are very polite; there is plenty of room for improvement. Breakfast is okay but the a-la-carte (set) menu at the time, need some life. The staff also need more training on what is in vogue. I once asked for Ice Tea and the waitress actually brought me some hot tea, sugar and ice cubes. Lol.
