We ate there while in town on business. It's a non-descript storefront. The staff is friendly, and the Margaritas are decent.Probably not the best Mexican food we've had, but certainly pretty good, especially for a small town in CT. We'll go back.
Big brother Mikro made a decision to leave the comforts of home and allow little sister, Texiko, to take over and do things in her own unique and amazing way. Mikro seems to be going through some growing pains and a learning curve since flying the coop. Bigger isn't always better. Food isn't as good. Ambiance went from cozy and comfortable to a noisy frat party. Texiko is doing great at the old homestead. Excellent beers on tap. An extensive list of tequilas. And a Tex-Mex menu with a flair for awesome smokebox bbq. Our friend had a flight of craft beers. My wife and I had the Outerlight coffee stout. Then the awesome waitress suggested starting with the chicken skins. Doesn't sound to appetizing but Wow the chicken skins are phenomenal. Crispy, smoky, deliciousness. I forgot to mention that they start everyone off with a complimentary snack. A small paper bag of crispy tortilla chips and a tasty fresh salsa. It was so good, we begged for a second round of chips and salsa. Please may we have another? LolOur friend had the arepas for dinner and my wife had the burrito.I had the Smokebox BBQ Platter. Pulled pork, brisket, and smoked chicken served with rice and beans, coleslaw, and texas toast. I also ordered a side of griddled mac and cheese. All of our dinners were excellent. At this point, we were all crazy full, but our waitress mentioned the creme brulee for dessert. My friend Sandi at L Restaurant makes the best creme brulee and this one was comparable to hers. Very good !

read the headline.had location location location, now just needs palatable food, a personality, and atmosphere that doeesnt suck, its like a bad vfw at also allows screaming kids near the bar and outside, and a magician who couldnt do the only trick i asked him: to quickly dissapear.and the mexian menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries reminded me on my trip to cosumel. on a fricken cruise ship with lousey kids and magicians.Go doent the street to Iztapah and eat there if you want mexican, go anywhere else if you want a unique atmosphere.good parking thoughHi WaltSorry you felt that way.We try to give the families a night out with the kids, which is why kids eat free on Sundays are so popular. i apologize if it was too loud for you...I know VFW's can be quiet. There are many Mexican items on the menu, you may have been looking at the kids menu..
I stopped by the Hamden location for dinner while running errands.I like their choices on their menu. Today I chose a salad with pulled pork, avocado, and bacon bits. ($10.50)The salad was filling and quite good.Service was super friendly. There were plenty of booths and tables to use while dining inside.I like the mix of music with classic oldies and more modern blues and such.

When I first patronized Chipotle Mexican Grill was when their doors first opened. At that time I was enthralled because the taco fillings, beef steak, chicken, pork and tofu (don't know if that was there when it first opened!), were well cooked and delicious. The staff were really friendly and seemed dedicated to granting your every taco wish. Now, after some time has passed, I've found the offerings to be less fresh, the staff, with the exception of the cashier, a bit on the going-through-the-motions stage and actually even giving me an incorrect order. That happened twice in the last several weeks. I still love their guacamole and the chips, when they're fresh - that's not always the case. The last time I visited, the guy ahead of me had a HUGE burrito, looked absolutely yummy, but that's one of the times I got the wrong fillings for my tacos, after having alerted the server to that fact several times. So, you never know. As to cleanliness, the place appears as clean a restaurant as you can find, at least in the eating area, and every time I visit, there's someone sweeping the floor. To be fair, I still go, but I urge anyone visiting to check their order! And eat the guacamole!!!
