Columbus is a city in and the county seat of Lowndes County, Mississippi, United States, located primarily east, but also north and northeast of the Tombigbee River, which is also referred to as the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway [3]. It is approximately 146 miles (235 km) northeast of Jackson, 92 miles (148 km) north of Meridian, 63 miles (101 km) south of Tupelo, 60 miles (97 km) northwest of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and 120 miles (193 km) west of Birmingham, Alabama. The population was 25,944 at the 2000 census and 23,640 in 2010. The population in 2012 was estimated to be 23,452. Columbus is the principal city of the Columbus Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is part of the larger Columbus-West Point Combined Statistical Area. Columbus is also part of the area of Mississippi called The Golden Triangle, consisting of Columbus, West Point and Starkville, in the counties of Lowndes, Clay and Oktibbeha.

YUM. Loved this place. Salsa was amazing, service was great, extensive menu and prices were very good. Had the steak dish and it was fantastic. Love the deor... would recommend for sure!

Took my daughter for lunch on recommendation from one of her professors. First off they must have some tile/stone workers on staff because the stone work in the place is beautiful. I ordered a mushroom quesadilla and my daughter custom ordered some nachos. We were both impressed in quantity and flavor. And the tea was very flavorful, way more so than most places. Unsweet, I don't need diabetes.

I would like to give a brief bio. I have been to thirty country's and I've also been to the worst slums Mexico has to offer. I've eaten out of trucks, restaurants, and from individual families in Mexico, and Mexican Kitchen gives them a run for their money. It isn't the slop they feed gringos at American style Mexican restaurants. It isn't fully authentic either. It had the best tacos I've had anywhere and the enchiladas are original. You won't have those enchiladas anywhere else. I am not a big fan of tamales but they were also good. The restaurant had decor on the wall before it was cool and the building has been there awhile. While the building and bathrooms could use some TLC I do believe the restaurant is clean. It is simply old and appears old because it is old. This is a great place to grab a meal Mexican Kitchen style.

We stopped in here right before closing time to grab a quick bite. It is a typical Taco Bell and since they were closing they weren't super crowded. Our order was quick and the food tasted as should be expected. Considering it was the end of the day the dining room was very clean and we were not rushed out even though they had locked the doors by the time we left. Friendly staff and the order was right!
