Great Find With Wonderful Mexican Food
We often try to find something different than the standard roadside chains while on vacation. Came here for dinner on a recommendation from the front desk at our hotel, nice choice. This seems like a nice local favorite.Great food and service. Weather was nice, so we had our meal out on the patio.

I was hoping this would be delicious, but it wasnât. The portion sizes for the prices, very disappointing. An ice cream scoop portion of guacamole was 9 dollars?! Not even made fresh at the table. The small basket of chips, I mean chips, really? Most everything was saturated in creole sauce, not good. The quesadilla was shredded chicken in the creole sauce and the smallest and tasteless. The margaritas, just eh. Though that was an ordeal trying to order. I just wanted a plain frozen margarita with salt. The waiter was trying to push the more expensive one so Iâd get âthe best everâ, it was so rediculose I just said give me water. That made him finally give me what I wanted originally and he brought a âsampleâ for me to try the more expensive, believe me, they were both not great. We sat outside, plastic table cloths have seen much better days. Old and grimy. For those prices, no thanks.

My family went for dinner on a Friday night in November. I had the Enchiladas Mole Poblano - good - not great and certainly not bad. Other dishes we had were Enchiladas Jarochas, Chalupas, Botana Mexicana and Guacamole appetizer. The Guacamole and the chips and salsa were bland and I wouldn't get the G again unless I planned to doctor it up with hot sauce and salt (and I don't use salt). I guess this is damning with faint praise, but the dishes we got weren't bad - but they were nothing special either. If we go again, I would try the Chili Rellenos - which is MY test of how good a place is, but it wouldn't be my first choice of a Mexican restaurant. I will say that the servers were friendly and the place - while not fancy - was alright. Frozen Margarita with salt was good - coffee was "eh"; chimchurri (?) dessert was "eh".
We stopped in for a late lunch. Fortunately, for us, the crowd was gone. They have a very nice menu and more authentic than the Hacienda. This is a nice family run business with a nice selection of beers. Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday and they have a nice special for $10.95. Will definitely return. Very friendly staff.
