After my previous visit to Las Mananitas I wrote a glowing review and gave it four out of five. I am sorry to say that my latest visit was terribly disappointing.Let's start by accepting that this place is hugely popular. The massive car park is often very full. There is a large multi-layered patio with great views - and this really is the place to sit when the weather is good. The food is good, although the service - including the wait times for drinks orders and the time taken for food to arrive - is very patchy. The worst aspect of this visit was the truly awful fight to get a table! First of all, you have to know where the front door is (the way to the podium, right?) which isn't necessarily as easy as it sounds because the solid door is unmarked and it is easier to walk around the side and sometimes a waiter will grab you and seat you without visiting the podium (we've seen this happen several times). But let's assume you go to the podium; and let's assume you have a booking. Well, on the basis of our recent experience, the booking means nothing. The chaotic podium means that it's the same person checking you off in the diary, then taking you to a table, often leaving the podium empty for long stretches. And then, because there's no separate line for booking, all the people without bookings fight their way to the front and will, nevertheless, often be seated before people WITH bookings. I know, because that was our experience. In the mad scramble I witnessed several groups almost coming to blows because (A) alleged that (B) had pushed in. In one case I saw an elderly guy tell the hostess that he had a reservation, only for her to rudely wave him away and seat a group who earlier told me that they didn't have a reservation! This could so easily be sorted out. A rope in the center of the passageway from the front door to the podium, and signs showing "WITH RESERVATIONS" and "WITHOUT RESERVATIONS". And then, most crucially of all, a host or hostess that was GLUED to the podium to control the guests in a proper manner - with guests with reservations given priority at their booking time.My family will think twice about going there again after that chaotic check-in and then incredibly long wait even for someone to take a drinks order.Such a shame. This place could be amazing, but instead, it's arrogant and sloppy. Someone with an eye for detail needs to manage it.

Went here for a change of pace from our usual Friday night out (as an alternative to our original plan).Fresh made table side guacamole made to your desired level of spice. I had the Beef Chimichangas which weren't bad. Lots of meat in them. Others in the party had Fajitas, Enchiladas. All well received. Less expensive than places closer to home.

Great food at very reasonable prices. This place is always filled with Mexican people who know where to get authentic, delicious Mexican cuisine. Give it a try!
This wasn't bad for lunch. I would go back. Tables were a bit messy and garbage was overflowing. Food was decent.
My wife and I stopped in for dinner. Thursday night, not too busy, got a table, like the title says, not a fancy place. Service was okay, a little slow, but friendly. Food was good, we weren't familiar with many of the dishes but they were described in English which helped. We stayed safe though, tacos for her and fajitas for me. I will go back, my buddy says they have a seafood soup which is good, I will need to try that next time.
