This restaurant is tucked away in the Woodbury Commons Shopping Center and is excellent. The setting is surprisingly attractive for a suburban strip mall and the front of the restaurant is often open allowing al fresco dining when the weather is cooperating.Dishes are typically Mediterranean although the preparation feels specifically Turkish. Falafel and grilled octopus are favorites however you will find the ever-present grilled chicken and lamb as well.Prices are robust--no real deals here however the food is good and the chef is competent.

Oniro Taverna brings a touch of rich, Mediterranean history to Woodbury, Long Island. Channeling the aesthetic of a traditional Greek taverna, Oniro Taverna is where fine dining meets the rustic and refined. Oniro offers an elegantly appointed dining room
A classy, upscale decor, excellent food creatively prepared and presented, generous portions, and good service make Oniro the go to place for a very enjoyable and satisfying dinner. Chopped lettuce salad was excellent, ad was organic chicken, grilled calamari and side of mushrooms. Fine dining, NYC quality.

This old standby has quite an extensive menu fluctuating between Greek and Italian. We went early, so tables nearly empty. Seemed the take-out bus was doing as good as ever. The staff was very friendly, local and attentive. Although I must say, I was disappointed when my heart was set on ordering Moussaka, and was told that it wasn't available that day. So I asked for Pastitsio instead to which the reply was "sorry, we don't have that either". Something about deliveries etc. so I ordered a pastas/chicken dish which was just average. My husband had a stuffed boneless chicken breast with spinach and feta which he seemed to enjoy. Portions were very generous and the greek salad (which they gave me at no charge) was very fresh and tasty. All in all, this little strip mall restaurant has maintained its sense of good neighborhood food and good value for your money.

Have been here twice for dinner with friends. We have tried the following appetizers. The feta cheese cigars, the hummus with flatbread and the spinach artichoke dip with toasted pita wedges. All were very good but I am especially fond of the feta cheese cigars. For entrees we've tried the grilled lamb chops, a variety of sandwiches and salads. The grilled calamari topper on salad was especially good. Portions are generous and very reasonably priced.
