A custom one of a kind experience! Hideaway Cove is nestled into one of the most beautiful places. We had amazing views right from our cabin. Our hosts Jensen and Spencer were incredible! The energy of this place and the passion they have for sharing it was definitely evident. Thank you for an amazing trip!!

Kachemak Bay Wilderness Lodge is Alaska's best wilderness lodge. Not only does it offer the best location of any Alaskan Lodge, but it also offers the most intimate and personalized experience. With approximately 12 guests per 10 naturalist-staff, the fully guided land and water experiences are customized to the individuals. This all-inclusive world class lodge features classic accommodations and gourmet meals.
We spent 5 nights with the amazing staff at Kachemak Bay Wilderness Lodge in June of 2021. Our group of 7 ranged in age from 10-74. The lengths the staff went to in order to accommodate the unique interests of everyone in our family was nothing short of incredible. If you are looking for an authentic, truly bespoke vacation experience this is it.

WOW! To say this place is just a rustic getaway is like saying Warren Buffet has a little money. Our experience was peerless in its perfection. The staff was there to meet your every need and desire (shout out to both Sams, Isham, Tory, and Margot!!). Our family stayed in the Crow’s Nest and Oyster Catcher cabins. The rooms were clean, well appointed, and spacious with one tiny exception (the sink in the Crow’s Nest was cramped due to the sloped ceiling right there). After our first cocktail hour, we found our in-room refrigerators stocked with our beverages of choice (Alaskan beer, wine, spindrift Arnold Palmer, etc.) The bear viewing excursion did not disappoint and another group that went on the fishing excursion caught their limit in both salmon and halibut. They shared some halibut family style the next day that the kitchen (Isham) did in a Moroccan style as a “side entree” in addition to the four course meal they prepared. In addition to fishing, hiking, kayaking, and morning yoga, we went whale watching on the spur of the moment when a pod of orcas was spotted near the Lodge. This made us late for lunch, but the staff was not put out and didn’t seem to mind, even though it had to have cut into their prep time for dinner service. The meals were, without a doubt, the best we had in Alaska, with perhaps The Saltry as the only restaurant to keep pace (sorry Seven Glaciers). Chef Nick can easily hold his own not only in Alaska, but anywhere else he works! We just can’t say enough about the Lodge and the staff.

One of the top 10 Eco-Resorts in North America. Located inside Kachemak Bay State Park, Sadie Cove Lodge offers adventures of land, sea, and air on the wild Kenai Coast. With a maximum guest capacity of 10 and no other commercial operations on the premises (public restaurant, general store, etc.) it feels like you have the whole place to your self and private groups of 8 or more do get the entire lodge.
Spectacular setting, then all downhill from there.outrageous rates for summer camp accommodations. The food is nothing better than ok,but each meal we felt ambushed by the owner Keith back on his favorite subject-his amazing self.He even once duped national enquirer into printing a story he wrestled a grizzly bear off his property, all 5'4" of him.trail went nowhere.save your money-alot of it,and stay one cove over in halibut cove, much nicer accommodations, meals, trails, everything, and easier access

May 2005, shoulder season; spent 5 nights at this incredible location across the Bay from the Homer Spit! Accommodations were comfy, cozy and warm--and they were" Tentalows" canvas-roofed timber-framed cabins with sitting area, wonderfully warm king beds. Accessed by their own 44' Delta cabin cruiser, this lodge on a secluded bay oozed charm and warmth, with a gorgeous wharf-life view from the main eating, social area. Sea otters and seals are right in the Bay to entertain you while you watch the tide. There's even a private one-room lodge for guests separate from cabins and the main home. There's a separate bath house for showers, and quaint outhouses...but that shouldn't deter you, really! Gary & Debbie are the innkeepers plus charter captain, tide-pooling, clam-digging, chef and Real People without affectation. They have an eye on your personal comfort and doing what they can to make your stay great. Their staff is hand-picked and ready to serve. Did I mention the home-grown Kachemak Bay Oysters that they farm? And serve up graciously and generously. Their chef this summer is Robin (usually it's Gary himself) and Robin has Food-Network skills that will knock your socks off. Be healthy enough to walk their grounds, this side of the bay has a steep slope, but is landscaped naturally and with your comfort in mind. When you need to take a breather on the path, there's usually a place to do so. Really, I'm not related to them, and am amazed at this top-notch accomodation. P.S. Activities are plentiful: We caught Halibut, sea-kayaked, hiked and saw Bear...on a trip to Hallo Bay to do so. Don't be afraid to give this place a try!
