El Ciruelo is a sophisticated and elegant dining experience, delivered in casual and lovely surroundings. We stopped in for a midday meal on a Wednesday, and joined a dozen or so other diners on the rear patio with beautiful views of the mountains. Our lunch consisted of the duck enchiladas, which were delicious, and covered with a green pipian mole that was richly flavorful and mildly spiced. We also enjoyed the shrimp tacos with plantains.Prices are on the high side, but the experience is one of an elegant restaurant, a step up from most of the surrounding venues. Service is attentive and professional, and while my wife speaks fluent Spanish, they also appeared comfortable with English.

Los Colorines was a bit of a disappointment, with an interesting menu but somewhat bland food. Between my wife's broccoli and my chile relleno, both battered, fried, and accompanied with a tomato sauce, we were underwhelmed by dishes at best on par with Mexican restaurants in the U.S. We dined at Los Colorines on a rainy weekday evening, and were one of only 2-3 parties in the entire place. Perhaps because of these circumstances, the staff seemed motivated to get us served and out ASAP, and service was surprisingly icy.

Family restaurant, with a unique view with playground, large outdoor sheltered by a palapa bamboo and at the foot of the majestic ceiba space will make you feel in a mystical atmosphere, with live music on weekends, fresh food from the region and who they
La Ceiba de Amatlán is one amazing place in the mystical town of Amatlán de Quetzalcóatl in Morelos, Mexico. My fiends and me enjoyed our time at La Ceiba, the restaurant owners take much care into making the very best food, with high quality ingredients they combine high end cuisine with a Pre-Colombian touch giving the visitors a feel of being close to heaven! You can sip on a nice Mezcal which is bottled by them too and it is REALLY good! We bought a couple of bottles to take home. They have a Ceiba tree, which is considered sacred in many cultures and you can sit under it and enjoy an amazing time with friends after a nice stroll trough the very charming and mystical town of Amatlán. The owners are really friendly and great and they told us they have live music sometimes which would be fun to experience too. Must mention their prices are awesome too!
