Nice local quaint family-owned restaurant. Pretty typical sushi menu. Ordered three sushi rolls and teriyaki chicken. The roles were average to smaller size rolls. the taste was average and nothing more or less. Staff was super attentive and friendly.

This place is tucked away in a strip center behind a bunch of buildings but it is worth the find. Everyone in here was very nice and helpful. The sushi was fabulous. Many varieties of sushi and sushimi along with other dinner items. This was a quiet place that had a lot of frequent visitors. It seemed everybody knew each other. This is a sign of a good place.

Hot Tuna is fantastic.! The quality of the fish is phenomenal and the service is on point. As a frequent sushi eater and âsushi snobâ, this place is great! Tuna and salmon super fresh and a great selection of regular and specialty rolls. This will be my new sushi spot in Tampa. Hands down...great place!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Jack and I decided to try something new on a recommendation from a couple we met at our favorite restaurant. So we ventured down the road to give Yama a try. It was a little strange walking into a once Burger King turned Japanese restaurant, but they did a good job in freshening up the decor. We started with ginger salads and shrimp dumplings. Salad was just iceberg lettuce and dressing. It might have been nice to have a carrot or cucumber. The steamed shrimp dumplings were a little fishy. Then we tried a couple of rolls. We tried the spicy tuna with brown rice and the house special roll. Both were good. The regular tuna roll was a little rubbery. We weren't blown away but we may try it again because the server was really nice.
