The shores of Lake Geneva have attracted visitors and invaders for millennia. The cheerful city of Geneva sits on the lake's western shore, lofty snowcapped peaks creating a gorgeous backdrop on all sides. The city is perfect for exploring on foot; rent a bike to venture further. The top of any itinerary should be visits to Geneva's lakefront and its famed water fountain, the Flower Clock in the English Garden, St. Peter's Cathedral, Reformation Wall, Place Neuve and the birthplace of the U.N.

Pretty good reviews on trip advisor and recommended by our Hotel (Richemont) we were looking forward to a 9:15 dinner albeit outside. Our table for 3 had to good chairs and a director canvas chair added (uncomfortable) food started ok, shrimp popcorn, tuna sashimi, both good, my beef tatake was sour and confusing. From then after it was very ordinary, my mother had Sole, again a very bitter vinegar sauce, my 125 Euro Wagyu was cold and not of a good quality with limited marbling. The coriander rice was OK, but very heavily flavoured. I’ve had much better Japanese fusion dishes. Perhaps it’s the Peruvian influences, anyway pretty much a waste of approx 500 euros

My daughter comes here regularly and enjoys the food and normally has great, friendly service. We came and enjoyed the food, but had an odd experience with our waiter. My grandson spilled his water across the table. We asked the waiter for assistance. He seemed overwhelmed. Instead of a cloth towel, he proceeded to dab at the puddle with a series of paper napkins. The puddle was still there and we had to ask someone else for help.

We stumbled across this place a few weeks ago when it was closed, saw that other reviews are good and decided to come for lunch. Today, we finally made it!Sake lived up to its promise. Thanks to the lovely weather we were able to sit outside and though it is alongside a road, the river Arve is just 10 metres away, providing a good background. The service is efficient and friendly enough. The food is what you come for, and it is (given the price range) delightful: we had the daily lunch menu which consists of two fixed starter courses and one of three mains. The crab & vermicelli salad was delicious and extremely well balanced: a delight. The second starter, in our case a rutabaga (swede to Brits) veloute, was also delicious, with a hint of curry and some delicate side flavours. Really nice. The mains we had were both very good too: a chicken tepanyaki and battered St Jaques Mussels (scallops); both came in sauces that were well balanced and with a filling amount of sides (rice and veggies; some kind of potato mash). We also witnessed some of the other main course - a sushi selection - being served. The portions looked generous and the patrons satisfied. All of this came at a very reasonable CHF 18 each.Definitely worth a lunch trip. The dinner menu looks even more tempting, having a selection of starters. I feel we may have to return soon.

Of course a lunch there is a bit more expensive than in other restaurants around but overall I think it is worth the detour anyway. Had a nice warm tuna mise en bouche followed by a perfect and tasty shrimps and vegetable tempura (plus rice and miso). All those easily among the good ones you can get in Geneva. Service efficient, quiet place and pleasant, if a bit cold, atmosphere. A good address.
