Until a year ago I hailed from the lovely Garden State. The whole NY/NJ area is full of establishments boasting of the âbest pizzaâ. There is all kinds: brick oven, coal oven, wood fired, and the corner pizza restaurant. So I am jaded and abit of a snob when it comes to pizza pie as we North Newarkerâs called it growing up.Fast forward and I marry a Detroiter and there are trips to his home state visiting in-laws and friends to celebrate (graduations and weddings) and mourn (hospitalizations and deaths). Early on I quickly learned that Jersey wasnât the only pizza that locals areproud of, there are many of them out there. The first time I ate Detroit Style Pizza, I fell in love. I had Buddyâs square pizza. The dough gets a double rise which when baked makes it an airy but well structured. The cheese is Wisconsin brick cheese. I donât know what that is but it is stretchy and somewhat tart. It is a perfect accompaniment to the sweeter tomato sauce. The cheese is put on the dough first followed by the sauce. The pie is in a rectangular sheet pan w/ sides and then baked to perfection (IMHO). You can order a half which is four pieces or a whole which is eight slices. All pizzas can be accessorized and there are some such as the Ultimate Italian, the New Yorker and so forth. There are other non pizza options and I recommend the Chopped Antipasto Salad that my husband says is yummo. If you are in the Detroit area and can get to a Buddyâs I guarantee you will have an unforgettable pizza. Heydonât tell my Jersey buds!We are honored to receive your vote of confidence, as we are thrilled to know you are now a Buddy's Pizza fan. Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience and for sharing your favorites. We aim to serve only the best and we look forward to serving you at your next visit. Thank you!

I had great expectations from reading reviews and wow, I was disappointed. I did not like it one bit, either did 2 kids. The most bland crust I've ever had, and the sauce is so acidic, it was so overpowering that I could hardly taste the cheese. Waste of 13.00.

My friend and I went last Thursday after work. I saw on FB that Fabio was in the house, so as a Too Chef fan, I had to go. Beautiful Reno inside. Sat at the bar. Had the # 3 drink on cocktail menu. Delicious. $10 each. Small and left not feeling 3 of them. split the potatoe skins, delish Amd meatballs. Iâm still dreaming of them! So good and Iâm not really a meatball person. The GM offered to take a pic of us, as I was taking interior shots. I said, not until Fabio is in it. Fabio appeared within one minute. Very nice and handsome. He worked the kitchen brilliantly. I hope the staff keeps it up while heâs gone!!! I suggested it tonight for my BF to go for âguys nightâ. Half way thru dinner, he texted me about the fantastic reco and that their food was delicious! One of the friends is Italian , too! BF has high standards, so for him to say that, was huge. Iâm also a local hairdresser and u know we talk!!- and Iâm a foodie!!! Tx again, BV, weâll be back. We needed u!! Hi Fabio. Thanks for the great review! I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit and that you sent other visitors to us! We look forward to your next visit!

Award-winning chef/owner Dino Grossi and his family opened Volare Ristorante in the Fall of 2004. Located in the heart of the new downtown Wixom city center, this restaurant features a dramatic interior rich in texture and color. The philosophy is simple:
This is a very nice restaurant serving numerous Italian entre's, appetizers, and deserts. Even though our group had 13 person including children, service was outstanding and so was the food. The chef (and owner?) stopped by to greet us and even sent complimentary items as he did before during our previous visit. As requested, kids' food arrived fast while rest of the group was enjoying drinks and appetizers. Food was very high quality and came hot for everyone. It is a nice gem in the area.

Since Antonios was celebrating their 55th year as a family owned restaurant, they were offering a special for certain pasta dishes with 55% off the second order. We ordered the angel hair pasta with tomato sauce and added the grilled chicken which included a salad or soup, but before our meal was served, the server brought a basket of freshly prepared garlic bread/rolls. You have to be careful not to eat the entire basket before your main meal is served. The portions are so large that each of the six of us asked for containers to take home for at least another meal. Also, our server brought additional bread for us to add to our container. There are so many other options available that I need to return soon. I loved the fact that six of us were seated in the area to the left in a booth time arrangement which kept the noise level less noisy.
