Restaurant Angelini serves a mix of American and new Italian cousine.
Came here with 2 other couples. Half of us were Vegetarian and some had had a late lunch so weren't very hungry. While the menu was a bit restricted, but looked good, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. They offered some off the menu vegetarian options and even obliged by bringing portions to share. The extra touch was that they brought extra plates for each dish so the sharers didn't mix their dishes and spoil the flavours!! The food was fantastic!!! the vegetarians loved the pasta and the mushroom risotto balls. The carnivores had the entrecôte that was superbly cooked and tasted heavenly.Overall a fabulous experience - highly recommended.Thank you so much for the kind words.Sincerely Mattias Lindberg

Straight up excellent pizza. I might not give this place 5 stars were it in Italy, but i might. Particularly good toppings, crazy good salami, wonderful hot chili, and the crust was very nice. I've not had many pizzas of this style, even in Italy, that were not totally mushy in the center. I don't like mush. I've had 5 pizzas in Sweden and all have the mushy center thing going on. I often combat this by asking for a little bit less cheese than normal. This keeps the "goop" factor down. You might want to try this some time if you don't love tons of cheese and want the other ingredients to shine a bit more, anywhere. My partner got a gluten free pizza. I had a bite of one of these for the first time ever. Not good. High gluten is what makes these pizzas what they are. I don't get the concept of Italian pizza with no gluten in the crust. If you can't eat gluten, maybe just skip pizza? I know it's none of my business, sorry.

Taormina has been around 'for ever' and was probably one of the first Italian restaurants in Umeå. Since then, several others have sprung up, but it's always Taormina to which I return. Pizzas, obviously, and they are near perfect - baked in a logfired oven and with only superior ingredients. But don't miss the pastas - they're also very good! The ambience is perhaps the only issue, situated as the restaurant is by a roundabout in one of Umeå's busier thoroughfares. It's located slightly outside the city centre and may take a bit of an effort to find, but if you do - stop for a bite!
