Based on the majority of reviews we were looking forward to dining in a local, non-chain restaurant. We arrived and got a table straight away and our server was great. The food was fine, fresh and well cooked. When it came to the bill I noticed an additional bottle of wine and an additional beer had been added. Given the wine cost around $40 is was not something that could slip under the radar. Although we'd had a good meal and good service, we left feeling that maybe the additional items on the bill were not necessarily an innocent mistake.Thank you for your review. We are so glad you liked our food and the service. We always try our best to give excellent food and service and we are happy when it meets that standard. We do apologize for the extra bottle of wine and beer showing up on your bill. We remember this and it was actually a honest mistake by a new server who was still getting used to our pos system. When we asked her about it, she mentioned that she could not see it on the screen so she punched it again by mistake. We realize that it should have been noticed when the receipt was printed but she was still learning. We have spoken to the server and she is quite familiar with the pos system now and knows how to check it. She felt bad it happened but we also have to realize that everyone has to learn. It is not always easy when you start a new job. We hope you accept our apology and understand the error. We do confirm that it was taken off your bill prior to paying. Sincerely, Vaughan

We went to Carmelo's for dinner with another couple on a Tuesday night. They have a dining room that is separate from the bar and other tables. We were greeted very nicely since our friends have been there before. The selection on the menu is not extensive but it is delicious! Our waitress, Heather, was very good. Always checking on our table and delivering our food at the perfect time. The restaurant is on Center Street in Lewiston, NY. There are many other restaurants but this is the place to go.

Visited with friends last Friday for the first time.Hostess could have had a smile but didn't. We had a reservation on the patio which was great and our server Victoria was excellent. Calamari and Arancini apps were delish. Bread, garlic knots, little pizza and condiments were very tasty. Main course of Veal Parm, Veal Marsala, pork special and Riggatoni were all well served and enjoyed. Wine list wasgood and reasonably priced.Overall with lots of wine, beer, apps and mains came to $220 US. Tip extra. Not bad for what we had. Will go again.

Being coal-fired, the pizza has a nice, crispy flavor. Specialty pizzas are unique -- flavor combinations that are not the everyday pizzas. Monday is half-price pizza. Wednesday is half-price wine. (Our grandson isn't too happy that the place uses "unrenewable" fuel -- he would prefer "wood-fired" -- :) But the pizza is great.
I can't say enough. Whether you get a tray for a party or a couple of slices of old fashioned for lunch it can't be beat. These brothers are great guys and have a great product!! I come home from Texas and head right in!!
