Really good friendly service.Best table as in corner with full length windows on two sides overlooking port.Lots of fishy choices - good as I don't eat meat.

Paid extra for best steaks and got served inedible rubbish by surly staff with attitude. This place used to be the restaurant of the Hotel de la Mer and WAS very nice. We had high hopes and were shockingly disappointed: it is best AVOIDED. Purhaps the pizza is OK, but opposite the fish market, why not mainstream FISH?

I was sat near the food preparation area and there were five or so flies crawling about flitting in and out of the food preparation area-although none seemed to settle there. The food preparer was totally oblivious to the flies. I decided to have pasta first as I had not eaten all day and had walked a lot and Granville is quite hilly- I chose the Tagliatelli bolognese, which was rather like shepherd's pie sans potato-very medicre! The calzone pizza I had was small and burnt on the top and rather bland. During my meal I was constantly dive-bombed by flies landing on my head and trying get on to my plate. The house wine was passable. The establishment was half-full on a Saturday-I presume they were locals who do not know what good Italian food is really like.My advice is give it a miss!

Two Italian restaurants opposite each other, this one and La Borsalino which showed cheaper prices but had bright garish lighting.La Regate looked very smart with nice lighting so chose it.Ordered Pizza Corsica which was gorgonzola, mozzarella & goats cheese. Crust was desperately thin, virtually non existent. The chilli oil was bland and the petit pichet vin rouge was reasonable at â¬4.70 but desperately tart.See my later review of La Grillade du Chateau at Ventenac en Minervois for excellent pizza and good cheap wine.
