La Nave is situated in the centre of Alzey. It is a family-run restaurant that serves typical Italian food. The cuisine is standard and not too sophisticated but very good. The service is fast and polite. The wine list consists several Italian no-name varietal wines. Definitely a recommendation if you want some authentic easy and nice meal.

I stayed in Alzey for one night with my parents on our way across Germany, and we found this restaurant by chance after driving around the city and looking for a place for dinner. (There were no restaurant reviews on TripAdvisor). We had fantastic, home-cooked Italian food at il Tramonto. Simple and delicious food, with great service.

The restaurant is located at the main street. There is some public parking space available. The decoration is OK, nothing fancy. The dishes are standard Italian/German. The pizzas are yummy. The Saltimbocca has less to do with a real Saltimbocca alla Romana. The service is quick and friendly. The prices are moderate.

I like the Alte Post restaurant very much, though I can understand the criticism of others. Depending on the waitress the service can be very good and rather bad. Alte Post is not really an Italian restaurant. The owners are Croatian and the kitchen is a mixture of regional Rheinhessen and Italian food on a higher level. The wine list is a mixture of Rheinhessen and Italian wines too.
