Reviews on International food in Pringle Bay, Overstrand, Western Cape. Pringle Bay (Afrikaans: Pringlebaai) is a small coastal town of ca. 1600 inhabitants in the Overberg region of the Western Cape, in South Africa. It is situated at the foot of Hangklip, on the opposite side of False Bay from Cape Point. The town and surrounds are part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO Heritage Site. The bay is named after Rear-Admiral Thomas Pringle, of the Royal Navy, who commanded the naval station at the Cape in the late 1790s.

Simplicity meets elegance, complimented by local cuisine that is prepared with flair and passion. Kick off those shoes and enjoy what this little coastal village has to offer.
Really pleasant Venue with nice Menu and professional service and great food quality. Unfortunately not open certain days so be sure to confirm when open as other establishments are.

Boutique restaurant in Betty's Bay. Open mostly for dinners and Sunday lunches. Times change according to season.
We are part time residents of Pringle Bay and always a treat to eat at this little gem. Deceivingly simple in appearance , but once you step inside, the warmth, wonderful hospitality and lovely unfussy decor, envelope you!The menu is small, but perfect and the food always delicious. Try the seafood platter or the lamb chops, wow! Perhaps the wine selection could be improved slightly, but that is just fussy me :) Thank you for yet another lovely dinner.Shaun and Gordon
The best restaurant for any type of food. I ordered an eisbein and the portion was so large and expertly done that it is recommended unreservedly.

With panoramic views of the sea and the mountains from inside the restaurant or outside on the deck, Jack's brings you fine home cooked fare prepared with the freshest of local produce. Whether it is a freshly baked croissant, our hand rolled pasta made w
We have come to know Jack's Cafe extremely well over the last few years and it is one of the first places that we visit on arriving in South Africa for our Winter stay. We don't just visit it once during our stay but several times to enjoy the food and the hospitality offered front of house by Laura who we just love. One thing I must mention is that the drive across to Betty's Bay from Gordon's Bay is one of the great things to do and is an added bonus to the welcome that we always receive in Jack's. It is a spectacular piece of road, one of the best to drive in the world and at the end of it awaits that welcome I mentioned but also some great food prepared by David. Oh and Jack's serves some of the best coffee you will taste in the Western Cape. The latest visit included bacon and egg croissants, healthy omlettes and of course the legendary fruit cake that I have personally become addicted to over the years and for which I am still trying to get the recipe out of Laura and David! My efforts remain singularly unrewarded.Anyway, take my advice, don't miss this drive and don't pass Jack's Cafe without calling in remembering that it is closed on Wednesdays. Tell Laura that Alistair the Cake sent you! Enjoy. As a business person there is a deep personal reward when casual visitors become dear dear friends. It happens for all sorts of reasons and never the same ones, but the connection year after year delights and warms us and we look forward eagerly to the next time friends visit. Alistair (the cake) always brings with him an outlook on life that is infectious, his gorgeous wife Lynn brings glamour and a wicked sense of humour.... I wish they could stay forever but the world is a big place and explore it they do, with gusto..... safe travels dear friends, until the next time in Betty's Bay x

The On the Edge restaurant project was funded by the National Department of Tourism through the Expanded Public Works Program and developed in partnership with the Mooiuitsig Community Trust, who hold the commercial rights to manage the restaurant and eco
We went to visit the penguins and stopped here for coffee and cake. Quite a large space inside but we sat outside with a view of the sea (and the penguins). Excellent carrot cake, good coffee and very friendly and willing staff make this a really great place. Other tables were having meals and the food looked good and other diners seemed happy. This is a community project in a place where there are very few employment opportunities so very well worth supporting. We'd go there again.Thank you so much for this wonderful review. So glad you had a nice time. Hope to see you again.
