- 36 Rooms, all with double or queen beds, 2 have king beds - 14 have kitchenettes - 4 are arranged for small groups or family - historic/rustic theme throughout - all rooms non-smoking - 7 rooms designated pet-friendly - located on Stewart's main street and on the edge of the Bear River estuary
I loved it. Our room was lovely though could have used a bit more lighting. It seemed all the rooms were slightly different, which is part of the charm. There was a nice lounge on the second floor. A couple of vintage cars are parked in front. We had a heavy rain one night and it was wonderful to lie in bed listening to the rain pounding the roof.

Located in a small seperate building away from main house. Managed by a friendly gentleman from Austria. Thou out the place are animal skulls located on walls, with the largest above the commode, I found spooky, my Husband thought they were kinda cool. the existing floor was tile, which was broken, chipped and had holes in it, covered by throw rugs. This left the floor uneven which was a trip hazzard for a 70+ year old couple which needed to go to bathroom several times a night. Would not stay here in the future.

This is an excellent lodge located in heart of small Stewart town.Martin the owner is superb person. From outside it looks like a old house ,but inside it is a modern place with all latest amenities,it has got an excellent shared kitchen and BBQ too.The rooms are good, however bath cubicle is small for a large person.Located at walking distance from information centre.

The hotel building is 1925 but has been upgraded from inside with fire alarms, fire extinguishers, radiant heating (supplemented by electric fan heater if required). Our room on the second floor was very spacious with spectacular mountain and street view. Pros: A good size ensuite bathroom and TV. Nice sitting and dining area in the lobby (just opposite our room) with microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, and Keurig coffee maker. Complimentary 2 coffee and 2 tea pods. Plenty of electric sockets in the room to hook up a cell phone charger or laptop The lobby has many old pictures and antique artifacts to remind you of old history. Cons: 23 stairs to the first floor and another 15 to the second floor. Might be hard for some people to carry their luggage upstairs. No wifi signals on the 2nd floor Paper cups available for making coffee/tea are very tiny, probably 6 Oz or 8 Oz and so, you will be disappointed if you are a coffee lover.
