Magnificent mountain farm, organic, producing essential oils and olive oil. In the Groot Winterhoek mountains. Each cottage has breathtaking views. Access to dam for swimming and the Ratel river for waterfall. Lovely walking, with caves and Khoi-San rock paintings. Farmhouse has a private rock pool. Fully equipped and self catering. Firewood available. Your hosts on the farm: Jaap and Stofelina.
This trip was long awaited, and I was not disappointed. Erica cottage was extremely comfortable for two people. A comfortable bed with white, white bedding. A huge fireplace in the lounge and a large covered patio outside makes Erica an all weather get-a-way spot. The best for me was finding the Bodum coffee plunger in the cupboard - nothing better for morning coffee and rusks while watching the sun creep over the mountain range to the east. A good selection of walks are enjoyable without being too strenuous. This is a working farm. The staff are discreet in respect of cottage privacy yet helpful when approached. Stoffelina is a delight. We are now looking forward to a long weekend in Lavender cottage next month.

What a lovely spot. We arrived in sweltering heat and welcomed the opportunity to slip into the crystal clear pool. Clair our hostess could not do enough to settle us in comfortably. Being Sunday, we discovered all the towns restaurants were closed for supper, but Clair jumped in and conjured up a magical Thai curry for us, it was delicious. I'll definitely keep Mossie's Nest on my list!

Rendezvous is situated in the middle of the town Porterville.
We recently had to attend a wedding in Porterville, an booked an overnight stay at Rendezvous. First impression was good, looks nice and well decorated. Bit of a cold shoulder welcome by Owner/Manager. Our room was nice, however they were painting cupboards etc. on a weekend they were fully booked and all you could smell were paint fumes. Our room was nice however attention to detail not there, we had a kettle, rusks and sugar, but no tea, coffee, mugs or teaspoons. Breakfast next morning the dining area was not even cleaned up properly from the previous night function they had, same dirty table cloths tabled were not set and breakfast you could not even choose what you wanted. No management visible in the morning at 09h00 when we left.... will we go there again ... sadly no
