We stayed here for two nights in late April and it was a great experience. Located not far from Marysville and just a drive down the Black Spur road (fantastic!!) to Healesville, it is a great location. The owners and staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. They have a great restaurant, dinner and breakfast, and a separate, good quality pub. The room was pleasant and well appointed and also quite large, so that was great. I would highly recommend this place to anyone on the road as a great trip breaker and lovely place to stop over for a night or two.

Blending with the natural environment, each luxury rainforest bungalow has king bed, kitchen, open fire & huge sunken spa looking out into a living forest. Indulge with massages, gourmet meals in the seclusion of your bungalow. Rare combination of genuine privacy & pure luxury - a truly nature based experience.
We were guests of this Narbethong's gem on many occasions for ten years and always enjoyed our stays till the business changed hands about five years ago. On our first return under new management the place was still running smoothly, the only disappointment was how they redecorated the cottages (ugly black paint covered priceless wood here and there, beautiful wooden blinds replaced by cheap plastic roller blinds and sheer curtans in a bathroom etc). But our last visit absolutely turned us off this place forever. It is heartbreaking to see a place once so unique and special has degraded to an ordinary accommodation with NO service and poor management. Too many things went wrong - communication, check-in, cottage stocking - but I'll mention just two. For $520 per night (the cheapest middle week rate) there were no bathrobes anymore. The excuse was - COVID restrictions. So, you can still use bath towels - thank god for this - but not bathrobes. Just laughable! And secondly, fireplace use is restricted till 24th June (date is not mentioned on their website) though it's 6 degrees outside, a winter month and heavy rain for a week already. It is very unfortunate but I'm saying "Good Bye Woodlands Rainforest Retreat. We spend so many happy days and nights together, you will be part of our memories forever".The only hope left is that one day this property will be sold back into caring and professional hands.

Saladin Lodge is your perfect bush retreat, providing luxury accommodation in beautiful natural surroundings. Relax in the lounge with a wine and cheese in front of the fireplace or take a stroll along the walking trails through the property and immerse yourself amongst the prolific wildlife and bushland. Saladin Lodge is located in beautiful Narbethong, only a short drive from Marysville and in close proximity to the Yarra Valley.
Just spent two days with my team for a work conference at this wonderful place. Kim’s hospitality was unlike anything I have experienced before it was like a home away from home, beautifully prepared meals (Kim prides herself on sourcing the best local produce) on a gorgeous rural property, slept in the most comfy bed I had the best sleep. Check out their website which shows a 360 degree view of this amazing place. Highly highly recommend Kim is so friendly and accommodating, we were already planning our next event there on the way home

The 20 acre property is planted with over 400 chestnut trees and virgin bush out the back. A large dam is also situated on the property. Nearby Mt Dom Dom looms large on the edge of the mountain backdrop to the orchard. The stars on a clear night are magnificent to behold. The cottages will delight you with its tasteful modern decor also providing ample space to move around, and views from all windows. A large open wood fire is sure to delight, as well as the bathroom with a double spa and mood lighting reflected through the pebbles underneath the cedar seat. The kitchen is fully equipped with a convection microwave, electric frypan and all cutlery and crockery. Generous breakfast provisions for a fully cooked breakfast are left for you to partake at your leisure. A gas barbeque is also provided on the patio. For longer stays a washing machine and dryer are also in the cottage. Come and enjoy relaxing on the patio and soaking up the peacefulness of the area while admiring the kookaburras and other birdlife present.
The cottage is beautifully appointed and is in the most ideal location for total relaxation. From the spotless bathroom with double spa and incredible shower to the breakfast provisions and extra comfy bed. Chestnut Glade is one of the nicest stays we've ever had. Can't wait to be back.

Our night at Oaktree Guest House as part of a Mystery Weekend package was for us the highlight of the trip. Whereas we found the picnic deal itself rather disappointing due to lack of variety and abundance, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mark and Meg’s accommodation. We appreciated what they were endeavouring to achieve with their choice of decorations and their genuine sense of hospitality. We felt very comfortable there and I particularly enjoyed using the spa on our (almost) private patio.
