Lying half between Seville & Jerez in the heart of Andalucia, the 300 year old Hacienda de San Rafael is a lovingly restored hotel of great charm. Formally a thriving olive farm, the hacienda now comprises 11 deluxe luxurious en suite bedrooms & 3 new thatched cottages or "casitas" set in an exclusive garden area and sharing their own infinity pool, perfect for those seeking privacy and space.
There are no superlatives excessive enough for how divine this place is! Breakfast served at our patio each AM, dinner by candlelight, cocktails on the terrace, lazy afternoons by the pool — and a staff so lovely and kind, we felt like family! Thank you Anthony, Gerry and Isabel for your hospitality!

Being welcomed by a friendly lady who showed me the simple but very clean room, I felt this was a good choice for a quick stay-over for a very good price. When I'm back for work next time, I'll definitely book here again. Highly recommended!

To be very honest, this is not a hotel, and especially not a 5 star hotel. Our impression: they receive guests now and then to cover some of the costs. Service is disrespectfull and interior is not been taken care of in years. A place that has lost its soul and now used for their own family. The guests only have to pay and receive zero attention and respect. The website makes you believe you will be in paradise. Don't be a fool like us. Don't spoil your money there. We left without sleeping there, lost 100% of the money and we felt very bad, not for the money, but for the negative experience these people gave us.

If I was able to give 0 stars I would. It is easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. No bar, no restaurant no facilities in the rooms ( No fridge, no tea & coffee making facilities) The a/c was so noisy and the bed was so hard we changed rooms for a slightly quieter a/c system but the bed was just as hard. Our original room was one of the most expensive at the hotel so I pity anyone staying in the cheapest! This hotel is about 5 km from the nearest town which is an absolute dump. Nowhere decent to eat. The swimming pool was cold and no pool towels are provided! The towels in the rooms are about 10 years old and it was like trying to dry yourself with coarse sandpaper. Breakfast was a joke. A bit of ham and salami, bread that had looked at toaster, stale looking croissants in bags, plastic cheese and no breakfast tea just herbal tea bags with lukewarm water. The TV is the smallest I have ever seen - we have a bigger one in our caravan! The bath was unsealed and very tired looking and the bathroom was crawling with ants. The other guests we met were of a similar opinion. I think that Fawlty Towers would be like The Ritz in comparison. You have been warned!!!!
