The Hospital in the Rock Nuclear Bunker Museum is a thrilling, unique and moving place. Visitors can learn about the WWII and the 1956 revolution as well as the Cold War in relation to this former TOP SECRET nuclear bunker. It had an important role during the war and it was classified until 2002 and opened as a museum in 2008. The place ensures a real time warp into the past. Mobiles are not working inside. Do not expect a regular museum. One hour long tour departs every hour in English. Guide books are available in several languages. Unforgettable experience underneath the Castle Hill. The entrance is only about 5 minutes walk from the famous Matthias-Church of Buda.
What an incredible place, we thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour around this fascinating piece of history, our particular tour was in English (some tours are in other languages with a recorderd translation device, worth checking before you book)and we found the guide very knowledgeable and informative

Permanent collections at this prestigious museum include the Medieval Royal Palace of the Buda Castle, Budapest In the Middle Ages and Gothic Sculptures from the Royal Palace of Buda.
Many interesting exhibits - including very rare (due of course, to conditions) piece of silk. Also details of different digs written by the lead archaeologists. You can't take a backpack but can take a small bag and you would need to pay an extra charge if you want to take photographs

Has now opened in the Opera Panoptikum: The Masked Ball of the Black Count - Wax Museum Cave Exhibition. An exhibition of the most beautiful caves of the world has now opened in the Castle Cave of Buda. For your information, a Court decision prohibits our company from using the designations ‘Labyrinth’ and ‘Labirintus’. Our official name from now on is ‘Panoptikum’ | Waxworks of Opera), which they have already placed on the street sign. Due to copyright infringement, another Court ordered us to discontinue the programmes Oil Lamp Tour and Maze Of Darkness. We had to put an end to the Dracula's Chamber exhibition as a result of an official banning because we made a falsification of history!
Very cool place to visit during a rainy day or if you want to cool down a little bit in the tunnels then it's hot outside :) Our visit lasted around 30 min so it was OK for 10 euros per person. Don't go here if you are scared of the dark :)
