Delectable dim sum, floating islands, and a one-of-a-kind skyline are just some of Hong Kong’s unique features. Get an eyeful of traditional Chinese architecture in Ngong Ping village, then take the tram to the tippity-top of Victoria Peak for unparalleled views. The rocks and gentle hills of Nan Lian Garden will bring you inner peace, as will a calming cup of tea in a Stanley café. Become one with everything at the Chi Lin Nunnery, a serene Buddhist complex.

The Lung Yeuk Tau Heritage Trail is a great walk around Fanling. Covering only a couple of km fit is awalk that most people can do. We walked from Fanling station (approx. 1.5 km) but buses re also available. We visited • Tsung Kyam Church, Kin Tak Lau, Shek Lo, Ma Wat Wai, Lo Wai, Tin Hau Temple, Tang Chung Ling Ancestral Hall, Tung Kok Wai, Wing Ning Tsuen, Wing Ning Wai and Sin Shut Study Hall. It probably took us a little over two hours. And interesting introduction to Hong Kong history. And a great glimpse of village life. Highly recommended as something you can easily do on your own.
