That restaurant is following Hungarian tradition. Right on the shore of river Tisza, it has the charm of the rural Hungary. You simple can't have better food and service if you are looking for real one not pretentious classy rubbish. The waiters are older guys with handlebar moustache and their cook makes the best traditional food there is. Not healthy, not michelins, only great food. They are very tidy too. At Christmas they make the traditional fish soup for take away. The locals form a queue long on the street with their 10 litre pot in their hand to buy some. Because it is not just as good as homemade but better.

I've been to Classic Cafe many times. They have a good menu with many Hungarian and Serbian dishes. They have both an indoor restaurant for the colder months and a courtyard for the warmer months. I prefer the courtyard dining in the summer since I feel that the ventilation is poor in the indoor restaurant and you leave smelling like the kitchen. The food is excellent and prices are normal for Szeged. The service is always good and friendly. I'll be going back this summer for some Cevap or the other great dishes.

A very professionally run modern restaurant underground by the Votive Church. The food is light and delicious and the wines are excellent. Attentive and friendly waiting staff.
