I came here for lunch on halloween (which is also my birthday) and was really expecting more. I was actually picking between this spot and Taverna Kycklades in Bayside and decided to go here because it seemed like a similar menu (both are Greek) and this is closer. When we got there, I was a bit shocked. The pictures on their website look and feel much different than what it looked like for us. Realistically speaking, this spot is much more 'casual' dining and maybe that's something I overlooked which is fine. When we got the menus, the food sounded good, and there was also a decent people eating. We started with the Garlic Shrimp because my sister loves Garlicky Lemony Shrimp which is exactly what this dish was. It was still a bit on the bland side but the lemony buttery sauce helped. There were also slices of garlic which was great. (Oh and we also got free pita and tzatziki right after we ordered which was nice)I ordered Octopus as my entree because I've had it at several Greek places and I love the way Greek restaurants make it. With all the great reviews here, I was expecting it to be amazing. My sister ordered the greek sausage lunch special and we were both pretty disappointed. My mediterranean octopus was really bland - but it did have the nice charred taste. Salt and Pepper and Lemon couldn't help it, but the Garlic Shrimp Sauce made a HUGE difference. My sister just didn't love her meal to begin with so it was a bit of a flop. Not sure if we came in with really high expectations given that it had lots of great ratings and reviews, or because we were comparing it to other spots? They do offer lunch specials (like the one my sister got) and even one with Octopus for about $13 which is pretty awesome and I'd suggest doing that. Also, when we gave the server our cc for the check, she forgot she had it? She had a friend who was at the bar - so she was distracted - but don't let stuff like that change how you serve your customers. We had no complaints before that, but the friend came in right when we asked for our check.

''This restaurant has ok Greek food. I think it used to be better. The gyros are still good, but somehow the salads and hummus used to be better, fresher maybe. I believe that most people have found a better choice down the road a bit.

The diner has been going down hill, farther and farther, since the renovations and then Peter left, which was a long time ago. Then there was the scandal when the Feds seized the place for failure to pay taxes. Advance to today with the three new owners. The place is like a ghost town most times. The one owner who works the day does not have any finesse or people skills. In fact, he tried to rob me of the proper change the last time I came, simply giving me the coin change but not the change of the $40, which was about $7 in bills and some coins. Also, this last visit, the food quality was poor. My coleslaw arrived with a chick pea on top. When I pointed it out to the waitress, she was had attitude that nothing was wrong. Also, the prices have really gone up. My friend ordered breakfast and I ordered lunch from the special menu, and the bill was $32 and change. Really, so not worth it. I recommend Skorpios or Neraki if looking for Greek food in Huntington. Both have very nice owners who actually appreciate their customers. For burgers, try the new burger place on Main Street. Radio Radio is hopping for drinks and dinner, as is its sister Barbeque restaurant next door. Looking for diner food? Try Mundays on the same side of the street a few blocks east.Thank you for the feedback. It is not fair to respond for the previous owners since I donât even know them. I am sure and I hope that the issue with the change was done in error. The quality of the products we use is top of line and I would love to show you or even post on this site the invoices and pictures of our products.we use only the freshest ingredients. The same ingredients we feed our own familyâs with. Last I would like to address the issue you have with the prices. The prices have not gone up or down since the ownership change since we are physically using the exact same menu as the previous owners. Our new menu should be out by the end of March and lowering prices is something we are seriously considering. Thank you again for the feedback and promise you that we will do our best for nobody else has a similar experience like yours.

My wife and I were big fans of Mediterranean Snack Bar which recently closed and we wanted to give Skorpio's a try. Place is small but we were seated for a late lunch in less than ten minutes. Waitress was very nice but busy- they give you a plate of pita slices with yogurt sauce to start- which is tasty but very garlicky. The open gyro was very good but the yogurt sauce is more consistent with sour cream than the more liquid type we were used to at Mediterranean. Greek salad was very good and tasty. Falafel sandwich on pita was large and tasty- have to ask for tahini on the side. All in all we had a nice rather inexpensive lunch and took a portion home for tomorrow! This place is also good for take-out!

If youâre looking for atmosphere you wonât find it here. This restaurant needs an intervention by an interior designer big time! We were seated in the side room which was cold, bright white painted stucco walls with a few unappealing pictures on them I guess was the decor. The fluorescent lights on the ceiling are fine for a workshop but not a Greek restaurant! The menu was the same as the former Mediterranean Snack Bar with inflated prices. The beloved oysters we especially made the trip for they did not have. We left feeling dissapointed... could have gone to a diner.
