Paragon has been the local place for local high school students to adults. It's a quaint place that holds many memories. Family friendly and good food. Weekends can be busy but they do a great job of getting everyone seated and served. A home cooked meal away from home.
George's is a good fast food place, cut above McD's. They specialize in gyros, and the platter is pretty large/filling for about $10 - 2 pitas w/plenty of lamb mea, tzatziki sauce, etc. and very tasty. They have hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, etc. You order at counter and then there's plenty of boots to sit at. I think they are a bit pricey, but what isn't?!?! There's never a time when you go in there and you are alone, always someone frequenting it. You get your own drink and they prefer one refill only. They do charge .25 for a cup for water (crazy, but lots doing it now). They've a hand painted mural on wall of various scenic points in Hobart - very nice! The waitstaff is OK, not exceptionally friendly, but efficient. Cooks are quick and you can see them grilling your food. They have 2-4-1 specials and sometimes you can find a coupon. They are located in a little strip mall, just west of restaurant w/big red rooster statue outside. In summer you can eat outside at tables w/umbrellas. The place is neat and clean. Try it!

I called at 9AM on a weekday for a 6PM reservation for the same day. General Manager was very polite, asked how I'd heard about the place, and said we'd be seated in the "Captain's" room to ensure we'd be seated together. When we arrived for the reservation, though we were seated in the same room, our family had to be split up into a party of 3 and another table for two, which was disappointing. At one point, I overheard one of the staff question if we'd have to be turned away. The place is quartered into an old, cottage-style house popular near the beaches of this area and I heard it was small, but still expected to be seated together as we were reassured during the reservation. Another shortcoming, though certainly not a dealbreaker, is that the menu purports that they have "beers and IPA's," though they only featured three beers this visit. All of the food we ordered was excellent; I had lobster pot pie and Chesapeake crab cakes (which I am an authority on). Other dishes we had included seafood crepe and a creative prime burger with oyster. The food was so good, I forgot until after we'd left, that our server never brought my lobster bisque that I'd ordered. The food is very good but some of the staff seem overwhelmed and I'll be apprehensive to come back with the entire family after this first seating debacle.
