The Tavern is the oldest commercial building in Charleston and longest continuously operating establishment serving alcohol (since the 1600s). There is a trap door where they served during prohibition which was neat to see. The shop is small and definitely worth visiting.

One of my favorite spots in Charleston! We have been “sheltering” here during the pandemic. Goat sheep cow has been a bright spot. The staff are exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The charcuterie,cheese and specialty food options are varied, the sandwiches sell out within a half hour of opening, wines are available. A great place as you explore the historic district.
