Living up to its billing as “The Natural State”, the state is a nature wonderland with three national forests, nearly 9,000 miles of pristine streams and rivers, awe-inspiring settings in the Ozark and Quachita mountains and sparkling lakes.
The menu of vacation experiences is an exciting one. For great golf, spas, horse racing and the Hot Springs National Park, Hot Springs is the place to go. Outdoor enthusiasts love the Ozark Mountains where activities like canoeing, rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking and rock climbing are popular. The mountain village of Eureka Springs, with its streets lined with Victorian homes, is brimming with boutiques, antique shops and art galleries. Wine enthusiasts love the Arkansas Wine Country, encompassing the towns of Paris, Ozark and Altus, where German style wines are produced. From its ancient mountains to the Delta flatlands leveled by the Mississippi River, the state has a diverse topography with numerous scenic drives. Try the Pig Trail, Ozark Highlands and Sylamore scenic byways in the Ozark National Forest designated by the U.S. Forest Service. Golfers love the state because greens fees are extremely affordable for great courses. A few excellent public access courses are Sage Meadows in Jonesboro, Stonebridge Meadows in Fayetteville and the Mountain Ranch Course in Fairfield Bay.

I found this place in frist part of February. I go up at least once a week for the hike and to meet new friends. This is NOT a place for little kids!!!! So far i been lucky, all the snakes i dug out, ( yeah you in snake haven ) have only been black snakes. But i have dug out a few Texas giant redheaded Texas Centipedes. Spiders, and heard of, not seen yet, scorpions!! Now being summer, it's HOT!!!!! Take lots and lots of water. I freeze my water and it stays cold all day. This is a nice place. No bathrooms. It sad to see where people go and leave their toilet paper and other just laying any place they feel like. Too lazy to dig a hole and bury it!! Slobs!! Nobody gets paid to clean this place up. Sad that every time I go up, I have to haul other people's garbage out. I enjoy this place. The hike early in the morning, the critters, the sun rise!! Meeting new friends!!! But when people throw garbage around, I seen nice places get shut down because of garbage. It will happen here too!!! If you bring it in, take it back out!!! This is a great place to explore. If you do get lost, just start yelling, somebody will hear ya!!! There are old roads running up and down this mountain. I found an easier trail and much shorter to the top. I do take my dog with me. But I keep a close eye on where we are. One bite from a snake and he gone!!!! So remember this if you take your dog with you. I not trying to write a bad report on this place. I just letting people know what to expect. As for the crystals. You can work a rock wall, or you can dig threw trailing piles. For wall digging, Big hammer for busting rock, pry bar, chisel, some use screwdrivers, deer horns, ect. As for digging the piles, simple garden hand tools work. Watch out, this can get addicting!!! No!!!!! I don't sell the crystals I find. Most I give away. The smile on a person's face when I hand them a nice point, that's what it all about!!! Enjoy!!! Stay safe.

We took our 4 and 5 year old girls on the trial. It is very simple and they loved the large rocks and easy trail.
