This excellent pub can be found between Mount Hawke & Porthtowan on the coast road. On arrival you will receive a warm welcome from the lovely Buffy, who can provide you with a nice drink whilst you look at their very comprehensive menu for something to eat. On arriving at the Unicorn we felt the atmosphere was warm and friendly with a busy buzz even at 6pm on a Friday evening. We were very impressed with the amazing brill, perfectly cooked, the crab etc platter and the burger. We will certainly go there again and again especially as it is dog friendly tooThank you Christine for taking the time to leave your review. Just Awesome!! Just had an amazing meal here, the experience was wonderful from the outset! We hadn’t booked a table but walked in on the off chance and was greeted with smiles and wonderfully friendly staff!! The place is lovely! We had eaten here previously under the old management and we were disappointed when it closed. After seeing it had recently reopened we popped in the other night for a meal and some drinks. I must say we were quite impressed. There have been some minor changes inside and a much improved smaller menu with enough choice to suit every taste, (the previous menu was too big).Good service and still very good value for food and drink with specials on 2 or 3 course meals.We had stuffed chicken and belly pork and both dishes were delicious.We really hope past reputations can be put where they belong in the past and Rose Cottage becomes the success it should be.Please give it a go.
