The service was a little slow (they were very busy), but the food more than made up for it. We both had the 10 oz. filet mignon, served with roasted vegetables. It was one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant. The filet was amazing, but the vegetables were the biggest surprise. I couldn't stop eating them! That is great to you hear, hope we see you again soon :)

I came here for a private event. The hot pretzels were so good! Our server, Lauren, was very attentive and happy to keep our glasses full, even if we were just drinking water. I've never felt more welcome! Will come again.

Half restaurant. Half beer bar. Half biergarten. Florida's oldest continuously operating craft beer-focused restaurant.
We stopped in for a weekend lunch, and arrived just before the lunch crowd. The beer selection and the beer we sampled was good. Lunch was a mixed review with a solid good for the chicken sandwich and the rice & beans side dish, and a poor for the crab cakes and onion rings. The crab cakes were mostly filling. Check the photo - there are some pieces of crab meat - but all of the rest is just breading, and rather bland. The onion rings were frozen, not fresh, and unimpressive. We did finish with a slice of Key Lime pie which was good enough to leave us smiling. Our recommendation - avoid the crab cakes, onion rings, and probably all the rest of the "seafood" choices. Stick with typical Biergarten foods such as the chicken and burger sandwiches. And definitely try the Key Lime pie!

Bar Refuge- Melbourne- 4 StarsThe building that now houses Bar Refuge has been here for 50 years. This restaurant is the first time something special has been here and Tracy the owner of this establishment has done an amazing job with the decor. Amazingly, this locale is NOT all show with no go. The food here is designed for maximum palate enjoyment. We started the meal with 3 different tapas offerings. The refuge tots, the Mac and cheese and the deviled eggs. I am thoroughly besotted with deviled eggs. These eggs were cooked properly and the inside was bursting with a flavorful punch. The mac and cheese was fluffy and creamy that achieved a perfect balance of flavors. The refuge tots are a cool idea. My tots were a tad overcooked but the cheese combo turns this into an upscale cheese fries offering. I finished with the fish tacos. The sauce was spectacular, the fish was cooked just right and they even grilled the flour tortilla which is a plus for me always. So you ask with all of this positive feedback why not a 5 star. Great question. Bar Refuge is in a gray area of classification. Not quite fine dining but better than a gastro pub. Big Boy says try it you will like it.
