Very popular restaurant and seems that booking is essential especially at weekends. Nice welcome and cloakroom service, which is sadly often lacking a lot these days. Tables, although somewhat crowded into the rooms, leaving little space for navigation, are set nicely and service was well timed. The weekend menu is somewhat limited in choice but there are vegetarian options for every course. I am told the fish dishes are the best, but as a meat eater opted for chicken supreme. The starters are in my opinion over-priced and the choice is quite limited. The food itself is presented well and the portions are well-sized. The quality of the produce was exceptional. Desserts are delicious but slightly over-priced at £7.50 each. The wine list is well above average and there is a good selection, which is on the whole well-priced. It would have been nice to have seen a couple of Grand Vins on the list, maybe a Pomerol or Margaux, but on the whole it is a good list. A shame I was driving!

The Plough really surpassed themselves with the quality of the food they presented us for a Restaurant Week lunch. The service and the atmosphere stopped us rating the overall experience as "excellent" - as did the very limited range of beers "on tap" - but full marks to the kitchen

Table was right in the middle of walkway so had constant traffic to and from the kitchen, also constant draft from the outside door when customers were arriving and leaving.Meat was very tough grisly and was very hard to enjoy, for the price of the steak we expected something special, have had better steaks bought from the supermarket..Desert was more than expected, more than made up for the awful main course...won’t be returning there in a hurry...

Lovely cosy ambience. Food delicious, I had the jerk spatchcock chicken it is quite a plateful, I couldn't finish it, full of flavour. My husband had beef wellington, which he thoroughly enjoyed, followed by sticky toffee pudding. The staff are attentive, without being overbearing. We will definitely, be returning. Someone sat at the next table had their dog with them.
