A no frills little restaurant if you drove past you would see queues of people being served (and very quickly to). The food is authentic, the owner having spent many years out Far East with his Malaysian wife (I think). The food is delicious with a great choice, and not to expensive too. It is eat all you want for a set price, and believe me a couple of platefuls of different food will suffice anyone. There is plenty of room for parking on surrounding streets.

We were staying in Sunderland for the World Transplant Games and decided to treat ourselves. We visited Shandiz as we wanted to try food we'd never tried. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is a little worn around the edges. The waitress was fabulous . So helpful , friendly and accommodating. We ordered our food and wow! When it arrived, my taste buds exploded.the food tasted so good it was some of the most delicious food I've had. I can't wait to be in Sunderland again.

Really nice interior. Relaxing and comfortable. Nephew had chicken burger which he really enjoyed. Hubby had fish and chips. He said it was okay. Had better but also had worse. I had chicken Kiev. Chicken was lovely quality but not a sign of any garlic butter inside but to be fair it was still nice. Staff were lovely - they couldn't have been any better. I might go back and try breakfast one day as reviews look great.

Great venue and food although entrance is bit weird! Squid, steak and tofu tacos all individually very good flavour and textures. Enjoyed the house recommended habanero sauce which was great taste and the beer was good..Wylam pale ale 6.7%.I think would be good could maybe do deal on tacos such as x for £10 instead of all individually priced.[Would have ordered more!]
