I visited here after staying in Siaulia overnight. If you don't have your own transport it's tricky to do this as a daytrip from either Riga or Vilnius. It's possible but it would be a very long day. There are regular buses from the main bus station that take about 40 minutes to small bus shelter, from there it's about 2km to the actual hill itself. I knew there would be a lot of crosses but really staggered by how many. I can't even imagine how many. It's a really striking, unique place and I'd highly recommend visiting if at all possible.Try visiting early in morning or in evening if possible as it was pretty busy when I visited.

The competition for the reconstruction of the square was announced in 1981, and it was won by a trio of architects from Siauliai: A. Eerniauskas, R. Jurela and A. Vysniunas. The centrepiece of Sundial Square is the gilded and bronze-ornamented decorative sculpt
