During our visit to Dinosaur Nat'l Monument in early July, we were told that this trail was the most scenic short trail in the park. That may actually be an understatement. In fact, the view at the end of the trail provided easily the best views of our entire visit to the park. I should note it was not busy at all on the weekday morning when we were there. You get glimpses of what's coming as your hike the trail out on a promontory (about 2.5 mi. RT). It's an easy hike that almost any healthy person or child could do. There are incredible views at the end of the trail looking to the east and west that are completely different from each other, but equally breathtaking. While we enjoyed driving the Harpers Corner Drive and stopping at all the designated overlooks, none of them compared in our opinion to the views at the end of this trail. If you do venture into the CO side of the monument, make sure you do this hike!

This is my favorite fishing spot up on Dinosaur National Monument. If you want a beautiful place to visit for camping, rafting, fishing or just take pictures of Echo Park is one of the prettiest spots in the area. I highly recommend it to any outdoor enthusiast who'd like to get out for the day.
