Wat Tyler Country Park

125 acres in size and declared an SSSI due to the wildlife present with Hawthorn scrub, meadow and saltmarsh habitats. Attractions include a miniature railway, sculpture trail, visitor centre, refreshment facilities, birdwatching hides and an adventure playground for the children.

I’ve been coming to wat Tyler park since I was little , it’s great for kids big park area outside cafe plenty of space for the kids to run around , mini train you can ride on and lots to explore ! Great fun and best of all its FREE

Langdon Visitor Centre

Managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust, the Langdon Visitor Centre is set in a stunning nature reserve of 461 acres which comprises woodland, meadows, lakes and former plotland gardens. There are beautiful wildlife gardens, a Peter Rabbit™ Woodland Trail and a museum of Plotland Life. The nature reserve offers walks through the many different habitats whilst the Visitor Centre serves refreshments and has a gift shop.

I parked by the 5 bar gate....this is a very pleasant short walk where your dog can be off lead..there always seems to be like minded dog walkers about so be mindful if their dog is on lead..
