Tenterden is a town with a large conservation area in the Ashford District of Kent, England. It stands on the edge of the remnant forest The Weald, overlooking the valley of the River Rother. It was a member of the Cinque Ports Confederation. Its riverside today is not navigable to large vessels and its status as a wool manufacturing centre has been lost. Tenterden has several voluntary organisations, some of which are listed below, seven large or very old public houses within its area and has long distance walking and cycling routes within its boundaries.

All of my cooking classes are about being hands-on and preparing fresh and delicious food yourself. I will guide you at every step whether you are a beginner or an advanced cook. I will help you learn to balance your flavours and advise you on how you can find authentic or substitute ingredients in your local supermarket.
Brought as a Christmas present I turned up to Belle’s Thai school not knowing what to expect. The class venue is situated in a pretty part of the Kent countryside and the kitchen itself is nestled in a charming row of cottages next to a traditional pub. Belle and her helper were warm and welcoming as were the other pupils. While preparing the ingredients Belle regaled us with stories of her life and how she got to be standing in front of us today and where she had gained her culinary experience. Then she carefully went through the ingredients making sure everyone could smell, taste and touch the ingredients as well as giving top tips on where to buy quality supplies (actually from the local supermarket!). We would then watch Belle create the dishes before having a go ourself at our individual stoves. The results were amazing! I learnt more about Thai cooking in 3 hours from Belle than I have in 15 years reading recipes! You can chose to eat your food there or take it home to share with family and friends. I have successfully made all the dishes numerous times at home and these are dishes which will last me a lifetime!

Old Dairy Brewery, started in 2009, is a traditional award winning micro-brewery nestled deep within the hear of the 'Garden of England', just moments from the picturesque market town of Tenterden, Kent. Our brewery is housed in two old World War II Nissen huts just behind the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway. We brew a range of hand crafted beers for different moods and occassions, with the finest malts and Kent hops grown just 3 miles from our Brewery. A core range of classic styles and seasonal beers; available in both bottles and cask. Our brewery shop is open Mon - Fri: 10 am - 4pm, Saturdays: 10 am - 2 pm. We offer brewery tours (booking required) for a cost of 10 per head on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Group bookings also available for private tours.
I had brought this tour for my partners birthday. We were both a bit sceptical on our journey to the brewery, but we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Jenny our tour guide was charming and informative and was able to answer any questions. We were able to try a selection of beers and ales I would definitely recommend this tour to friends/ family and anyone who enjoys a good beer or ale.
For over 100years we have been growing British hop garlands on the unique ‘terroir’ in the Weald of Kent. We offer tours throughout the year where you can enjoy a detailed guided tour of the farm, our premier hop yards, our modern approach to picking and preserving followed by a beer tasting. We also have a beautiful hosting opportunity for larger events with direct views over the hops.
