winery
We were happy to find a winery nearby while road tripping. Chatham Winery is a hidden gem, offers outdoor seating (perfect for covid season) with a pretty view of the vineyards while enjoying a flight, glass or bottle of their wine, can also order fresh bread and cheese but we didn’t since we’d just had lunch in Cape Charles. Their Steel Chardonnay is very good, we bought a bottle to go. The hostess was friendly and knowledgeable.

Wow. This was by far by favorite experience on the Eastern Shore. Four of us went right before closing, and the pizza, and experience was unforgettable. They stayed open for us, and others past the closing time, and met locals, just enjoying life. The owner sang, and played his guitar, and we absolutely loved it!!! Can't wait to go back. Was an adventure in life, off the beaten path, and pleasantly unexpected. Thank you!!!

I've been to Black Narrows two times now (both times during vacation trips to Chincoteague) and I've had a great experience both times. The beers are genuinely creative, and good. They aim to use local ingredients, and are not afraid to try something new. I've been able to find something that was interesting and unusual -- but also drinkable -- and there have been some more traditional brews that I really loved. They had a Scottish-inspired beer last time, and it was delicious. The atmosphere is laid back, yet fun. Kids and families are not only welcome, but actively encouraged. This made it feel more like a community gathering, and less like a standard food-service business. Board games and toys are there for the kids, and the inside space is comfortable. A good place to enjoy a beer and watch a game if it's too hot outside. The outside area is nice, not too big. The size encourages talking with the folks around you, giving further impression of the community aspect of Black Narrows. The proprietors were there both times, and they made it a point to go around and chat with folks -- this was a real nice touch. They don't serve food, and that's fine. There's a seafood place right next door, and we walked over, ordered some steam shrimp and clams, and they delivered our food back to us at the brewery. Very convenient. Overall, this is one of those places that I'll have to add to my "must visit" list whenever I'm in Chincoteague. This is one of those places that you can't but help to root for, and hope that they're around and successful for a long time.

My two teenage children are both vegan and we stumbled upon CC Brewing Company because they serve the BEYOND BURGER” which is vegan. The whole experience was great. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The beer ( not normally a beer drinker) was great. The food was fabulous ! The Beyond Burger was great. The fries were the absolute best. The soft pretzel great with beer. We sat outside ( although there was inside seating). Highly recommend if your traveling through you won’t be disappointed.
