I dont even bother making salads at home any more...because Gibbys are the best hands down. The wraps are fabulous of course....

We had read reviews before we had gone there, and there were mixed messages. From our experience, the cost was a bit high ($20+ for 3 pieces of fish and 2 scoops chips) and yes people on here are right, it's frozen pieces and frozen crinkle cut chips. What was surprising was the portion size of the fish as they were small!! About 2/3rds or under of the size of a standard piece of fish. Pretty disappointing and if we were hanging around or eating in then we would have complained about it but we had a ferry crossing to get to. We wouldn't recommend it.

I've been coming to Westport for the last 40 + years ( I have family there). Always enjoyed the Golden Horse food, especially the whitebait patties in the dining room. The last visit, the quality of the fish n chips had gone down abit. Perhaps it was the 1000 people crammed into the shop waiting for their order on a cold night and clearly the shop was abit overwhelmed and that affected the quality.Eventually got the food and it was a wee bit greasy. I think it could've sat for a little bit longer after coming out of the fryer.That being said, I still enjoyed it and will go back on my next visit.

It is what it is. Fast food, in and out. Service was friendly but not engaging and didn't need to be. Efficiently prepared, as you would expect. No complaints, just wanted a quick meal.
