My Wife and I decided we wanted to go out for lunch and only wanted a good sub in a sit-down restaurant and not spend a fortune. We decided on Firehouse Subs in Spring Hill because they have top quality Subs, âHeroâ Sandwiches to others, with top quality cold cuts, also known as âLunch Meatâ to some people. Firehouse Subs was founded in 1994 by former firefighters and brothers, is based in, Jacksonville, Florida. This casual fast food restaurant chain took off like a rocket and is reported to have over 1,105 franchise locations in 44 states as well as, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico. When you do something right it shows! Located in a small group of stores at the corner of Mariner and Northcliffe, they use fresh bread for the foundation of their overstuffed, incredible tasty sandwiches. The chain, started by two fire fighters and brothers, is on a mission to serve fresh sandwiches at a reasonable price and use part of the profits to help first responders through their non-profit foundation, âFirehouse Subs Public Safety Foundationâ has raised 44 million dollars for their effort since they started, to purchase needed equipment for first responders around the country. These are not the run of the mill, âho humâ sandwiches. They have several unique sandwiches that use premium quality cold cuts and chesses that enhance the flavor of the sandwiches on toasted, fresh baked rolls and bread. We prefer hot sandwiches, but they will serve them cold if you prefer but we think getting them hot enhances the flavor. My top choice is the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket with Prime choice beef brisket smoked for up to 16 hours with melted cheddar, mayo, and Sweet Baby Rayâs® BBQ Sauce. My wife loves âThe Engineerâ a sandwich made with Smoked Turkey Breast, melted Swiss, and sautéed mushrooms complete with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion as you prefer, with a kosher dill pickle on the side. I always add a side of the Firehouse Chili Made from ground beef, kidney beans, diced tomatoes and onions. A flavorful, hearty dish. The quality and quantity of the food is greater than Subway on any day which more than justifies the extra cost of a sub! The counter people are always friendly and helpful. The table area is clean, but a bit crammed together. The restroom could use some help. Maybe not the best location in the chain itâs close to home. For their philanthropic work and excellent food my wife and I are pleased to support Firehouse Subs regularly.
Dropped in for a bite to eat after being told by a friend the chicken was good, not impressed at all. The staff were friendly and efficient, but the food was forgettable, the chicken was bland and the fries were ok, but then you can get ok fries anywhere. Not for me

About 15 years ago while summer traveling with my kids in Wisconsin, we stumbled upon an interesting restaurant called Culver's ButterBurger. Children, I LOVED seeing those happy faces as they were devouring ButterBurgers! And the Wisconsin Cheese Curds! And Frozen Custard delights! I had a huge happy face, too!We were hooked! I believe we dined at two or three more locations before heading home, southward bound towards Florida, the land of NO CULVER'S!!!Present time, imagine our cheerful chats when I told my now young adult kids Culver's was coming to our area! That's a mouthful in so many ways! Now living in Brooksville, I was eagerly awaiting Culver's arrival at my doorstep. And now, the wait is OVER!Culver's restaurant designs are bright and airy with clean lines. A lot of thought has gone into every nook and granny. Whether eating inside or outside(which right now is a no-go in Florida's 100 degree solar sear)..I love hearing a cheerful greeting 'Welcome to Culver's!' upon entering the a/c'd retreat...sure makes ya feel good. My first visit to this new location, the Wonderful Miss Emily took my order. She answered a few questions as I settled on the North Atlantic Cod Filet Basket. I know what you're probably thinking. This guy RAVES about the ButterBurger then ends up ordering fish? Yeah, well let me explain.I KNOW how awesome Culver's ButterBurgers are. But, I love a good fish sandwich, too. I've had it with other fast food fish, 'their' fish sandwiches are 'floundering' and 'crappie' now. So I was testing the 'waters' by ordering the Culver's fish filet. And this filet WINS, FINS DOWN!My Cod filet sandwich was served to me HOT, with a crunchy crispy outside and beautiful white flaky inside. It looked like an actual filet! A nice sized piece of thick fish. Not something that was pressed out of a factory fish stamping machine. And the tartar sauce, even though it was in a single serve container, tasted pretty good. I noticed it was Culver's and not a food provisioned generic item. Instead of fries, I chose Onion Rings. They were delicious, nice oniony taste and plenty of them.Hometown hospitality and Great food! For me, there's no reason to McBK any more! Tell them John & The Kids sent ya!

However, I will go to Publix grocery stores before I choose to go to Subway, they rip you off when it comes to the meat on your samich' if it's roast beef or turkey you are wanting, they just put very little on, rather go to Publix or a deli because as least their you get what you pay for.
