Although our food was good, the poor service definitely put a damper on our dinner. The waitress did not looked pleased to be serving us and you could tell she did not like the fact we had children with us (who by the way were very well behaved). it took us 2.5 hours to have dinner and most of that time was spent waiting and waiting and waiting.

Well worth the trip. Delicious subs starting at $5 and offering custom subs/sandwiches by the pound. Variety of meats available. Highly recommend the Gonella's regular sub for your first time. I tried the 18 layer this time and it was huge for $8.50. I think for most people the 5, 6, or 12 layer is just right. I love the potato salad here and also tried the chicken salad which I ended up buying a container of for a sandwich from home the next day. Cold beverages, chips/snacks, desserts, a variety of deli salads like tuna, chicken, veggie, potato, pasta, and so on available by weight. A much better bargain than chain sub shops and a Detroit original/gem. No inside seating - to go fare only.

The only thing missing for a true feel would be roller skating waitresses. But the food is great & nothing beats A&W root beer. All clipped to ur 1/2 rolled dwn window. So come on down & relax in your own car & listen to your own radio stations. And enjoy some great food.

2 thumbs up. The tacos are fat. The seasoning is A1. The salsa is some of the finest youve ever had. They treat you like a paying customer. They move quick. If your looking for a reasonably priced meal that will tickle your fancy... look no further.

we promised our grandson ice cream so DQ Blizzards it is! They like the mint chocolate chip, I had the Snickers! YUM!
